About Department and Purpose of the Position

Reporting to Head, Ops & Planning Section, Department of Pathology, the staff will be responsible for providing oversight to the charging and reporting sub-section, to ensure timeliness and accuracy in billing, and ensure reconciliation of invoices and receivables. Staff will support Pathology operations consisting of planning, coordinating, and facilitating efficient service delivery. The staff will also support in the professional, financial, and administrative aspects within the department.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

  • Provide oversight to the charging and reporting sub-section
  • Provide procurement support to the department, including office supplies, lab equipment and inventory to ensure smooth operations
  • Plan and prepare budgets that are consistent with department and hospital strategies
  • Monitor budgets (e.g. capex, opex, staff training) and other NUH-related funds
  • Prepare cost and fee reviews to ensure fiscal sustainability
  • Compile and collate statistics of respective sections\' key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Manage projects relating to operations and administrative functions
  • Provide support to clinical, research and education activities in the department through resource planning, workflow, costing and billing
  • Assist in the formulation and implementation of contracts, partnerships and collaborations with other public or private entities
  • Communicate and foster good relations with clinicians, allied health staff and other staf outside the department to facilitate feedback, information flow and streamline processes
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties (20%)
  • Perform administrative duties when necessary
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by reporting officer
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor degree, preferably with 2 years or more work experience in healthcare setting
  • Positive attitude, proactive mindset and a willingness to take initiative
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and organization skills
  • Knowledge of operational, financial, and human resource management
  • Proficiency in using office software (eg. Microsoft Office Suite) and possess IT knowledge and skills
