Job Description


The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School, which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes, is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in partnership with Imperial College London, LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The Schools primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group, a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical expertise, facilities and teaching. The School is transitioning to an NTU medical school ahead of the 2028 successful conclusion of the NTU-Imperial partnership to set up a Joint Medical School. In August 2024, we welcomed our first intake of the NTU MBBS programme, that has been recently enhanced to include themes like precision medicine and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, with an expanded scope in the medical humanities. Graduates from the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine, with an emphasis on technology, data science and the humanities.
We seek a dynamic and experienced Clinical Practice Facilitator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching medical students on campus, providing hands-on training in clinical procedures, and fostering a supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of clinical expertise, teaching skills, and a passion for medical education. Flexibility to work during regular office hours and occasional weekends is required.
Responsibilities:
Conduct training sessions for medical students on campus, focusing on clinical procedures and skills relevant to their specialty.
Develop and implement engaging and interactive teaching methods to facilitate active learning and student engagement.
Collaborate with faculty members and healthcare professionals to ensure alignment of teaching objectives with curriculum standards and accreditation requirements.
Provide individualized support and guidance to students, identifying learning needs and implementing strategies for improvement.
Utilize educational technologies, simulation tools, and multimedia resources to enhance learning experiences and promote skill acquisition.
Assess student performance through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
Stay updated on current research, evidence-based practices, and advancements in medical education to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Participate in professional development activities, workshops, and conferences to further enhance teaching skills and expertise.
Key Competencies and Education Requirements:
Possess a Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution or hold an equivalent qualification in a related healthcare discipline. Current licensure or certification as a Registered Nurse, or equivalent healthcare professional cert, is an added advantage.
Having BCLS, LSCN, ACLS or Mask Fit Trainer certification, or any equivalent nursing or healthcare certification, is welcomed but not mandatory.
Comprehensive understanding of medical procedures, diagnostic techniques, and treatment protocols relevant to the specialty being taught.
Applications are welcome from candidates with diverse healthcare backgrounds, including newly graduated registered nurses, retired nurses, allied health professionals, and paramedics. Prior experience in clinical practice facilitation, medical education, or healthcare training is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience is required.
Strong clinical expertise and proficiency in relevant medical procedures and techniques.
Exceptional presentation skills tailored for engaging young adults.
Ability to effectively handle and communicate with young adult learners on campus.
Emphasis on patient-centred care principles, empathy, and professionalism.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and educational technologies.
Familiarity with educational theories, instructional design principles, and teaching methodologies to effectively impart knowledge and skills to students.
