Assist Hull & Liability section in performing various risk assessments.
To build up new business relationship, analysis profitability of accounts and prepare quotations and other correspondence for new enquires.
Assists in negotiation of premium rates & policy terms for new/renewal policies.
Ensure all premiums are promptly paid within the stipulated premium payment warranty
Review risk acceptability to make subjective decisions based on underwriting guidelines; ensuring standards for compliance and regulations are met
Identify trends and opportunities, develop and service main accounts
Develop on-going relationships with intermediaries and business partners for new business growth and renewal retention, ensuring a profitable book of marine business
Review and update marine product offerings, value-added services, underwriting guidelines etc.
Handles enquiries as required and support other members of the team and work closely with producers to achieve department targets
Seek treaty support clearance and approval for sanction countries.
Arrange reinsurance placement when amount exceed treaty capacity.
Performs other functions or tasks assigned from time to time.

Requirements:
Diploma / Degree holder preferably in insurance or shipping/logistics discipline / ANZIIF or ACII
3+ years working experience with substantial experience gained within marine insurance industry
Good working knowledge of underwriting, product rating and pricing methodology
Established customer/broker relationships
Extensive knowledge of relevant market conditions for specific class/portfolio
Thorough understanding of class specific underwriting and reinsurance knowledge
Ability to lead, coach and develop team members
Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements
Ability to analyse data and use for decision-making
Strong attention to detail
