Description

The Job Holder is mainly responsible to:

• review of corporate business renewals in accordance with the Guidelines including Acceptance Limits
• ensure that renewal terms are provided to intermediaries within the service standard
• work closely & maintain good rapport with intermediaries & staff from other Sections or Departments in order to carry out his/her work efficiently
• update & review of underwriting guide including monthly peer audit in respect of a particular class of insurance

Key Responsibilities include:

• Review of corporate business renewals from Direct clients and/or intermediaries in accordance with the Guidelines including Acceptance Limits, co-ordinate risks surveys (where necessary) and/or secure reinsurance support (if required) before releasing the renewal terms to them.
• Involve in mega or complex renewals.
• Maximise renewal retention.
• Provide underwriting support to Business Development team.
• Provide technical advice to intermediaries.
• Day to day servicing which includes following up on outstanding premium.
• Review underwriting guides including audit on both new & renewal cases to ensure consistency.

• Carry out market research by soliciting intermediaries' feedback, analyse competitors' packages and quotations, in consultation with the Supervisor.
• Undertake projects or other duties as assigned by Supervisor &/or Head of Department.

Qualifications

• Min. Diploma or similar qualification
• CGI Qualification
• Min. 3 years of underwriting experience for General classes of insurance
• Customer focus, good communication, teamwork, problem-solving, analysis & negotiation skills
• Positive outlook & attitude, willing to learn & pleasant personality
