Key Accountabilities:

This role will support our Alternatives business capability:

  • Investment Support \xe2\x80\x93 Work closely with Investment Team to provide financial and operational support on new investments and ongoing monitoring of existing investments including assessing any accounting, valuations, tax and compliance implications.
  • Operational Support \xe2\x80\x93 Support the end-to-end process of each transaction and ensure trades are settled on a timely basis. Cash reconciliation and management.
  • Business Initiatives \xe2\x80\x93 Work closely with the Investment Team and other stakeholders on new business initiatives, such as new fund launches. Provide inputs from a financial and operational perspective.
  • Reporting \xe2\x80\x93 Review and prepare accounting, finance and management reports for funds under management. Participate and present at Board and Investment Committee meetings as operations representative. Coordinate annual financial audits with independent auditors.
  • Tax/information reporting \xe2\x80\x93 Manage processes covering tax form validation, FATCA and CRS compliance and reporting across funds.
  • Stakeholder Management \xe2\x80\x93 Liaise with and manage requests from relevant internal and external parties to ensure smooth running of operational and financial activities. Manage service providers (e.g., Banks, Fund administrators, outsourced middle office service provider, Corporate Secretary)
  • Compliance/Risk \xe2\x80\x93 Hands-on approach in terms of reviewing relevant documentation of funds and investments with a view to ensure proper settlement and accounting treatment for both internal and service provider records where relevant. Identify and implement controls to mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Participate in any internal audits and regulatory reviews of alternatives operations. Respond to KYC/AML enquires from counterparties.
  • Process improvement and other projects - Recommend potential changes to workflow processes to achieve efficiency, cost control and relevance with current requirements. Provide support in ad hoc projects as required.


EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferably in Accountancy, Business or Finance.
  • Chartered Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst preferable but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in a financial institution or asset management industry. Some experience in an Audit Firm (Financial Services), Fund Administrator and/or Fund Accounting role in a Buy-Side Private / Alternatives Asset Manager with specific experience in either Private Equity, Fund of Funds, and/or Real Estate operations is preferred.
  • Experience with Private / Alternatives Assets investment execution, on-boarding, review of legal documents, new fund launches, fund liquidations, negotiation and reviewing of engagement letters/contracts with external service providers.
  • Experience in fund documentation and fund structures are beneficial.
  • Experience with relevant systems preferred, e.g., Investran, Aladdin etc.
  • Experience in due diligence review of fund investments is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in both written and oral English. Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are essential.
