Our client is a global industrial manufacturing company and they are looking for an experienced freight professional to join their team.
Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end regional freight operations, covering inbound, outbound, and intercompany movements across Asia.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities with 3PL partners, freight forwarders, and courier providers to ensure timely delivery to plants, customers, and distribution hubs.
  • Investigate and resolve logistics problems such as transportation delays, discrepancies, damaged shipments, or documentation issues.
  • Ensure all cargo movements meet import/export regulations, customs requirements, and internal trade policies; maintain accurate and audit-ready shipping documentation.
  • Collaborate with trade compliance teams and customs brokers on declarations and regulatory matters.
  • Support freight rate reviews, including ad-hoc quotations and lane negotiations together with Procurement.
  • Monitor cost drivers, assist with quarterly freight cost reporting, and validate freight invoices and allocations in SAP or related systems.
  • Perform key SAP logistics transactions and maintain accurate master data for routes, shipping points, and logistics partners.
  • Assist in enhancements to Transportation Management Systems and process integration with external logistics providers; contribute to testing, SOP revisions, and process alignment.
  • Track and improve logistics performance indicators, supporting warehouse transitions, stock transfers, and system go-live activities.
  • Participate in or lead continuous-improvement initiatives to strengthen operational control and compliance.
  • Provide logistics support for new product introductions, distribution footprint changes, and sustainability-related projects.
Requirements
  • Experience in logistics or supply-chain operations within a regulated or manufacturing environment.
  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in 3PL Management
  • Solid knowledge of international freight forwarding, import/export requirements, and dangerous-goods handling.
  • Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP/WMS platforms, along with advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, regulatory handling practices, and cross-border logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage logistics budgets, lead improvement projects, and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, particularly in multinational or cross-border settings.
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse relocations, new site setups, or operational transitions.
  • Exposure to logistics operations within the Johor region or Singapore-Malaysia cross-border environment is advantageous.
  • Continuous-improvement mindset with working knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma tools.
