ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Information Systems (IS) Engineer to join the Information Systems team. In this role, the Senior IS Engineer will be responsible for supervising helpdesk services, overseeing backup and disaster recovery processes, maintaining the network infrastructure, monitoring system alerts, managing projects, and enhancing supplier relationships to drive ongoing improvements. The primary focus will be on ensuring the seamless day-to-day functioning of the organization\'s information technology activities, meeting stakeholder requirements, and upholding Service Level Agreements. A strong foundation in technical skills and the ability to contribute to the smooth functioning of the IT operations is essential.

This will be a permanent role for the right candidate with ample opportunity to grow within the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for 1st/2nd line IT support, providing helpdesk support to business users, including laboratory computer systems, escalating issues, monitoring the performance of business-critical systems to prevent outages, and following up to resolve ongoing issues
• Own the incident, change and service management processes, ensuring SLAs are met
• Provide operations dashboards and reporting relating to IT operations
• Perform system and network administration and periodic reviews on the use of software and user access
• Perform system backup and restore test as well as disaster recovery of critical systems for business continuity
• Own the hardware and software inventory, checks for EOL/EOS devices on a regular basis and perform technology refresh
• Review and perform patch management to keep the system operating software dated and free from security vulnerability including laboratory computer
• Perform monitoring and remediation of system and security alerts, create playbook to automate recurring alerts
• Take ownership of enhancing existing systems, operations, procedures, best practices, and compliance to policies
• Perform any other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional Certificate/Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology or related fields
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in handling IT operations,
• Proven working experience in the following:

• Windows Hyper-V, Linux server operating systems
• IT infrastructure and networking, with a focus on Fortinet and Alcatel equipment
• Setting up cloud storage on AWS S3
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
• Highly motivated individual who initiates action, excels in managing competing priorities, is solution-oriented, and can swiftly address and resolve issues to ensure continuous operations
• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and results-oriented, with a strong customer service background
• Good written and verbal communication skill in English
• Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in managing High-Performance Computing clusters and handling laboratory systems is advantageous
