Roles & ResponsibilitiesBackgroundGYK is a professional services firm with more than 40 years of presence in Singapore and APAC. As a firm, GYK focuses on Audit, Tax, Corporate Secretary, Consulting and M&A. As part of our team expansion we are looking for 12 months contract accountants who has prior experience in insurance industry to work on several accounting projects/assignments with GYK.This is a consulting role where you may work on 1 or 2 different clients across your contracted period. As part of the role, you may be seconded to support insurance clients on accounting matters such as (but not limited) assistance with financials, general ledger reconciliations, month end closing, fixed assets, monthly JE's, monthly closing, statutory closing and and general accounting duties as needed.Alternatively, you may also be supporting on IFRS17 transformation projects as a Finance SME under the Finance stream.Requirements BA/BS in Accounting and/or Finance/Business preferred Strong understanding in IFRS and Singapore statutory requirements Possesses a solid understanding of accounting principles. Must demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions to achieve results. Comfortable leading meetings and able to communicate issues and trends to senior management and other groups at the appropriate level of detail Possesses a solid understanding of accounting principles. 5+ years finance and accounting experience Prior experience in life insurance or worked in insurance industry in Singapore or Malaysia will be required.
