The core responsibility is to provide effective management and execution of audit assignments to ensure integrity of the audit process and methodology.
Accountable for effective coverage of all of key business, financial and operational risks in areas under audit.
Assist in the development of audit plans.
Understanding new areas / products that the bank is developing in order to identify inherent risks and key control for auditing.
Responsible for undertaking/updating annual or periodic risk assessments for all audit entities and operational/business units of Singapore and China.
Prepares audit notification in adherence to audit methodology.
Attend all pre-audit meetings with Group/Business/Operational unit heads.
Prepare and execute control assessments in accordance with audit methodology.
Prepare and execute audit programs and all audit work and ensure documentation of audit evidence, exceptions and conclusions.
Conduct weekly / periodic meetings with auditee for discussion of issues noted during the audit.
Responsible for ensuring audit is carried out in accordance with audit methodology.
Timely follow up and closure of open issues.
Responsible for preparation and review of the final Summary of Issues and conduct team meeting to discuss.
Prepare/review quality audit reports in accordance with audit methodology requirements and submit to the Group Chief Internal Auditor for review and issuance.
Execute internal investigations under the supervision of Group Chief Internal Auditor (GCIA).
Execute the quarterly follow-up process (identifies overdue issues and follows-up with auditee management, monitors updates to the database, prepares the final statistics for review) under the supervision of the GCIA.
Conduct risk assessment of audit entities and update the audit universe risk database.
Keep abreast of developments in internal and external audit practices and regulatory requirements/developments.
Ensure that the end-to-end audit is completed within the defined KPIs.
Ensure that all communications to GMs (including providing opinions on behalf of Internal Audit) are routed / cleared by the Group Chief Internal Auditor.
Participate in country specific committee meeting as appropriate in line with the MAS individual accountability and conduct guideline.
Timely completion of audited related documentation in Teammate.
Profile
Role requires in-depth understanding of business and banking risks arising from operational processes, people and information technology.
Able to communicate and provide advice at a professional level without any personal bias. Strong ability to withstand pressure and provide independent advice in all areas.
Professional audit/accountancy qualification (ACA, CPA, CIA, CISA, MBA) with extensive experience of financial services.
Extensive and detailed knowledge of banking products, services and their delivery mechanisms and underlying financial and operational risks.
Experience in auditing banks and similar financial services organizations. Experience with external audit firms / regulatory agencies an advantage.
