IFC Equity Mobilization Department (AMC) within the Treasury & Syndications Vice President Unit (VPU) at IFC, mobilizes and manages capital for private equity investments in emerging markets. AMC was created in 2009 to provide investors with access to IFC\'s emerging markets investment pipeline and to expand the supply of long-term capital to these markets, enhancing IFC\'s development goals and generating profits for investors by leveraging IFC\'s global reach, standards, investment approach, and track record. AMC has raised US$10.2 billion through thirteen investment funds that invest across a variety of sectors, geographies, and strategies. AMC is currently in the process of launching two new funds fully aligned with IFC\'s priorities. AMC is looking to hire a Senior Investment Manager (G2) to work across three of its funds \xe2\x80\x93 IFC Financial Institutions Growth Fund, IFC Emerging Asia Fund and IFC Global Infrastructure Fund. The position will be based in Singapore. IFC Financial Institutions Group Funds (FIG) These funds are currently managing growth equity and sub-debt investments in financial services sector companies (banks, insurance companies, non-bank financial institutions, and fintech companies) operating in emerging markets globally. The latest 2015 vintage $505 mm fund (IFC Financial Institutions Growth Fund) is in the process of considering the follow-on fund in 2023/2024. IFC Asset Management Company\'s Emerging Asia Fund (EAF) This fund co-invests with IFC across all sectors in twenty-five countries across Emerging Asia and raised $693m in 2016/17. It has since deployed approximately $600m in 19 investments with two possible remaining pipeline deals to close by Q1 2023, so the focus is shifting to actively managing these investments to generate attractive returns for investors, with a second fund being considered in 2023/24. IFC Global Infrastructure Fund (GIF) This fund made and now manages equity and equity-related infrastructure investments in companies operating in the power, transportation, water, telecommunications, oil and gas midstream and downstream sectors. Roles and Responsibilities Responsibilities including but not limited to: Portfolio
Proactively manage existing equity portfolio to increase the value of AMC investee companies and actively generate attractive returns for Limited Partners, including complex and challenging structures and situations
Work with AMC senior leadership, investee companies and respective IFC deal teams to provide operational value-add and strategic guidance to portfolio investments
Design and execute exit strategies from portfolio investments o Serve as Board observer and/or Board member for select investee companies (where applicable) and contribute to the performance and strategic direction of the company.
Manage strong relationships with senior management and board of directors of select portfolio companies, sometimes solely, where applicable.
Function as the lead Investment Officer for investee companies, where required.
Ability to proactively connect the dots across portfolio management lessons learned to generate innovative ideas, value-add, or solutions that can be replicated where relevant.
Designated Portfolio Officer for AMC and occasionally IFC investments, where necessary, handling relevant work related to corporate actions by investee companies and monitoring of financial performance.
Support and work with other AMC funds on joint investments.
Lead and generate high quality material for quarterly and annual fund reporting.
Investor relations and fund raising
Contribute to the fundraising of any new AMC funds including research & development and drafting of PPM, and pitchbook material, whilst also managing, coordinating and participating in investor roadshow presentations, creation & management of data room whilst also drafting Q&A in response to LP queries.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective Limited Partners
Plan and lead regular LP visits with other members from the fund team and Client Relations team.
Team
Lead and mentor junior staff on deal selection, due diligence, structuring and negotiation leadership across all AMC teams.
Lead by example and help build a trusted, high performance, inclusive and collegiate team culture that encourages junior professionals to excel and develop professionally.
Leverage expertise of all team members to ensure successful outcomes.
Selection Criteria The successful candidate is likely to have worked for an investment bank and/or private equity firm preferably with a focus on emerging markets financial services sector. She/he will have solid expertise in structuring and executing transactions, valuation and financial modeling skills, portfolio management and business strategy. She/he will have a deep understanding of international best market practices and global trends in emerging markets; strong analytical and technical skills; experience in structuring private equity deals, including an ability to mitigate risks and enhance returns; and expertise in negotiating complex deals and handle corporate and financial restructurings.
M.B.A or equivalent degree with at least 12 years of relevant professional experience in an investment bank and/or private equity firm, focusing on principal investments
Proven and recent deal track-record of sourcing, structuring and closing equity investments, including investments in emerging markets.
Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills; demonstrated ability to synthetize complex information and make concrete strategic and tactical recommendations.
Strong business development and client relationship skills.
Financial skills: demonstrated ability to structure a variety of complex equity instruments.
Technical skills: experience in building financial models and ability to supervise analytical work of junior investment staff.
Strong track record of portfolio management of complex equity projects.
Strong track record as Board of Directors Observer across different companies and sectors.
Proven experience in managing and contributing to senior Limited Partner relationships.
Sound business judgment in identifying potential business partners.
Ability to interact with the senior management of potential clients, financial and technical partners as well as government officials.
Strong inter-personal skills, ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues from various cultural backgrounds.
Willingness to travel extensively.
Highly motivated, committed to highest ethical standards.
Team player and experience in managing, motivating, and growing junior professionals.
