Roles & Responsibilities THE ROLE
— To deliver complex projects through to a successful completion. You will be required to have an understanding of the specific components of such projects from procurement through to implementation. Skills in concept development and communication are important, as is the ability to lead highly motivated design and documentation teams. This position is a senior level within the organisation and may lead to Associate level nomination for the right person
REPORTING

— Principal In Charge — Managing Principal — Team Leader as required
LIAISE WITH

— Managing Principals, Principles in Charge — Head of Design — Regional Leader — Clients — Academic Communities, Industry Partners — Consultants, Contractors and third parties involved in the project delivery — All studio staff as required

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

— The following skills and experience are desirable: — Appropriate tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecure — At least 7 years’ experience — Intermediate Microsoft Office skills — Demonstrated plant knowledge and understanding of the unique SG environment and understanding of and commitment to ESD — Intermediate AutoCAD and/or Revit skills preferred — Adobe Suite skills preferred — Documentation skills and experience — Professional presentation skills
KEY ACTIVITIES

Please note that periodically you may be asked to undertake activities outside of those listed below. — Client interface — Monitors and assesses project briefs against the budget, the program and external factors — Prepares preliminary project evaluations, programs and feasibility studies — Establishes project procurement options — Ensures timely billing and collection of fees — Confirms budget and timeframes following an analysis of the project brief and the constraints upon its delivery — Coordinates specialist consultants, contractors and suppliers — Contributes to the generation of new business — Maintains and strengthens Hassell’s client relationships — Ensures Principals and Discipline Leaders are aware of progress in meeting objectives at all times — Prepares and monitors project work plans — Assumes financial and management responsibility for a project — Demonstrates high levels of skill in design/documentation — Encourages critical thinking, diversity of ideas and opinions, and finds creative, value added approaches to problems and opportunities — Capable of managing multiple projects within the financial and resource parameters set by the company — Directs and supervises landscape architectural and consultant teams for small to large and complex projects — Adheres to QA standard recording, communication, project administration and monitoring systems — Monitors compliance with contract documents and requirements of relevant regulatory authorities — Participates in the management of relevant discipline and/or studio — Seeks timely advice of Principals and/or employees in other disciplines as appropriate — Promotes and uses information technology appropriately for planning, completing and delivering work — Ensures all work is completed to the standards required by Hassell and has been reviewed / signed off — Anticipates and manages resourcing requirements for the project — Team Leadership — Communicates details of all projects to the team thus ensuring full and common understanding — Optimises efficiency of team by setting clear goals and monitoring progress — Builds a positive team environment by focussing on team based goals, cooperation and team achievements — Acts as a role model, embodying behaviour consistent with Hassell’s values which employees respect and learn from — Solicits and acts upon feedback (including upwards) to improve team processes, promote morale and productivity — Coaches employees on the job through appropriate guidance feedback and support — Encourages/enables team member participation in formal development program
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
— Manages fees and costs within the project budget in order to make the required a profit margin as defined by the Principal In Charge — Generates ideas and fresh approaches to client issues consistent with Hassell values — Recognises and resolves actual/potential sensitive client matters tactfully and diplomatically — Ensures that all relevant information about the client relationship is shared amongst team members — Evaluates progress in meeting objectives — Accepts responsibility and takes action on team member issues in a timely manner — Actively seeks feedback on performance of the team and modifies approach to ensure client satisfaction — Gives sound, consistent and non-conflicting advice to clients
