Senior Licensing & Program Executive

The Senior Licensing & Program Executive is responsible for managing the companys extensive licensing programs by pursuing business opportunities with artists and intellectual property holders to devise growth strategies for the company. This role also requires the person to evaluate, initiate and develop new programs and products for the company to scale locally and regionally.

The Role

  • Develop and execute licensing strategies that align with business objectives and target markets.
  • Identify potential licensing partners and secure new agreements.
  • Negotiate and manage license agreements with partners.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Evaluate, initiate and develop new programs and products to scale locally and regionally.
  • Conduct research and analysis on market trends and consumer demand.
  • Develop ideas for new products or programs that align with brand and target market.
  • Work with the design and production teams to develop new products and programs.
  • Manage relationships with existing licensing partners.
  • Monitor licensee performance and ensure compliance with license agreements.
  • Work with licensees to develop marketing and promotional strategies for their products.
  • Identify opportunities to expand licensing agreements with existing partners.
  • Monitor and report on licensing program performance.
  • Develop and maintain licensing program metrics to track performance.
  • Analyze licensing program performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports on licensing program performance for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (References SOPs, WINs, and approval processes) accurately and a good record of documentation maintained for audit purposes.
  • Involved in the development of cross-business unit programs and new product developments to achieve the organizations growth.
  • Attend licensing trade shows, workshops, and conferences for networking and understanding current business trends.
Requirements
  • Min Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required. Experience in a creative field, such as Art or Design, will be an added advantage.
  • The ideal candidate should have 7 years of experience working in a similar role, setting up and managing licensing programs for a consumer products company with a strong track record of success.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with artists, creators, and intellectual property holders within the pop culture, media and entertainment industry, and an in-depth understanding of their business needs.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and identify opportunities to develop compelling product lines and programs while creating and implementing strategic plans that will expand the business.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The candidate should be able to build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, negotiate contracts and agreements, and work collaboratively with legal and design teams.
  • Have a deep understanding of the business and financial aspects of licensing programs, including revenue-sharing agreements and financial modeling.
  • Ability to think creatively and propose new approaches that lead to the production of high-quality and innovative licensed products that have a strong appeal to the target audience.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple licensing projects simultaneously, prioritizing workload, and ensuring the timely completion of projects and deliverables.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently
  • Strong people management and development skills
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
  • Very good proficiency in MS Office suite is essential
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment independently and within a team
