We are working on high-throughput, real-time distributed systems that use machine-learning techniques to solve hundreds of millions of requests per day.Our mission is to offer the best products and experiences to our driver partners to increase the adoption and engagement of our services, improve driver partner opportunities and efficiency to fulfil consumer orders without fail, rain or shine and to create efficient marketplaces by determining an optimal price that is both sustainable and loved by our partners and consumers.Get to Know the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer who will report into the Senior Engineering Manager in a hybrid work arrangement in Singapore. This is a hands-on role involving building large-scale simulation platforms. You will build a digital twin of Grab\'s marketplace that consists of tens of thousands of consumers, drivers, and merchants. You will also develop reinforcement learning, optimisation and control models to solve business problems inside Grab\'s marketplace and deploy them at scale.You understand software development life-cycle and engineering practices, experience developing production ML systems, experience working on a range of regression, classification, and optimization problems, experience applying reinforcement learning (or control theory), and experience working with real-time streaming data.The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will architect and develop our simulation platform to emulate Grab\'s diverse service marketplace.
• You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers to design simulation processes for enhancing platform policies and optimizations.
• You will work with teams to create simulation SDKs that enhance user experience in the platform.
• You will integrate and build feedback loops with data scientists to conduct optimal policy searches through the simulation platform.
• You will design and grow the platform to support daily simulations.
• You will contribute to the optimization of service capacity and performance.
• You will participate in code and design reviews to uphold the standards of development.

QualificationsWhat Essential Skills You Will Need

• You have at least 3 years of experience in the following areas: software engineering for machine learning services or a large-scale simulation environment
• You have proficiency in Scala, Python and experience with Golang
• You have experience in Functional Programming and Frameworks like CatsEffect
• You understand software engineering practices and design patterns, experience writing readable, maintainable and testable code
• You have experience turning business problems into ML/ AI-projects
• You have experience with any ML framework, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• You have experience with any big data framework, such as Spark, Ray
