Machinist

Purpose:

Machines Oil well equipment parts consistently meeting or exceeding manufacturing, safety and quality targets. This position is intended to requiring application of skills and appropriate setup, machining and deburring process as specified by order, DBI\xe2\x80\x99s, drawings, process sheets and verbal instructions.

Job description:

• Strategy

Understands procedures, work orders, Drawings, set-up sheets and Part Report and follow work instructions to plan the job layout with as few set-ups as possible. * Execution

Sets-up machine as required using prescribed detail and operating procedures.
Monitoring and manage cutting parameters such as speeds, feed rate, depths of cuts and etc. during machining with relation to parameters specified in the program instruction. * Building Capabilities

Promptly reports any operational problems or safety issues with machinery, tools or equipment to Line Leader.
May perform additional operations on product such as cleaning, deburring, stamping and sanding. May learn and perform preventative maintenance on assigned machines. * Safety

Actively participate and stain high level of 5S. Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area.
Practices good housekeeping in assigned area and properly disposes of waster accordingly to safety and environmental policies. Able to set up tools with minimal guidance. Gathers required tooling and fixture or places order if necessary. Input labor details into MES System. Identifies the type of material being used and corrects or modifies tooling callouts, offsets, speed and feeds to allow for variations in the material Complete machining operations as required per routing to complete the part and consistently achieve or exceeds the organizations safety and quality requirements.
Uses material handling equipment to move parts and components to and from work area. Promptly reports any operational, quality and/or safety issues with machining, tools or equipment to Line Leader.
May perform additional operations on product such as cleaning, deburring, stamping and sanding. May learn and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines.

Location: Singapore

You are meant for this job if:

• NITEC in Precision Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in oil tool industry. Preferred exposure to manufacturing and mechanical environment.
• Able to read, write and understand simple verbal and written English. Ability to handle oil well equipment parts safely with overhead cranes.
• Demonstrate ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Able to understand and apply basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Able to calculate, set and modify machining parameters (speeds, feeds, depths of cuts, tapers etc.)
• Able to follow instructed job layout and operate HBM/Lathe/Turn-Mill machines. Ability to use basic measuring instruments, gauges and measuring techniques. Ability to use a personal computer or workstation.
