With dedicated Relationship Managers and Product Specialists providing local support and advice across countries and territories, HSBC helps connect customers to opportunities.We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Business Financial Crime Risk.Principal ResponsibilitiesThe Singapore Wholesale NFR function is part of the Wholesale Chief Operating Office. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to lead the Business Financial Crime Risk (BFCR) stream within the Singapore Wholesale Non-Financial Risk function. This role will report directly to the Wholesale Head of Non-Financial Risk.

  • Support Financial Crime related investigations for Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions and Payment Fraud related activities that have been identified as having elevated levels of financial crime risk across Wholesale Banking
  • Provide advisory and direction to Senior Stakeholders in Wholesale Banking on Financial Crime investigations or intelligence referrals
  • Contribute towards the wholesale business investigation strategy, collaborating with Financial Crime teams on proactive reviews as a subject matter expert; i.e. Proactive Country Analytics Investigations (PCAI), Country Support Reviews (CSR), and broader thematic reviews
  • Leverage digital, data and analytics tooling to enhance the overall FCR control environment. Supersede manual controls with automated strategic solutions, challenging false positive rates through streamlined effectiveness and control accuracy
  • Project management and subject matter expert advisory for Financial Crime related systems such as Actionable Intelligence, Transaction Monitoring and Screening tools
  • Maintain close working relationships with internal stakeholders in the wholesale business, products and risk functions. Actively participate in working group forums and governance committees
  • Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the application of financial crime related policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure good quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Provide high quality updates to provide accurate, timely and insightful analysis of the progress of Financial Crime related events and evolving typologies that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making
  • Contribute to recommend changes and improvements, facilitate controls remediation where required, ensuring de-risking initiatives are tracked on an ongoing basis through governance
  • Guide and empower business frontline and middle office on Financial Crime Risk (FCR) initiatives, supporting the sustainable embedment of FCR culture and awareness
  • Support to manage internal and external audit requirements
  • Deputise for the Wholesale Head of Non-Financial Risk when out of office
Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of Financial Crime Risk management and controls gained through experience in risk related roles (first or second line)
  • A sound knowledge of Global Banking and/or Commercial Banking products, processes and systems
  • Good relationship management and experience working with senior stakeholders
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work independently under pressure and to challenging timeframes within a team environment
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand new policies, process and technology and deliver complex content in an informative and convincing way
  • Strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve complex problems whilst adhering to timelines and quality of output into useful, insightful and concise recommendations and consider alternative and lateral solutions
  • Strong communication, facilitation and coaching skills whilst dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders and team members, distributed across functions and locations
  • Proven track record of developing course support materials and documentation
  • Previous experience of leading a team would be an advantage
