What will I be doing?

The APAC Communications team works cross-functionally to develop purposeful, creative and strategic internal and external communications support for Hilton. Working alongside a team based in Singapore, across APAC and around the world, the Senior Manager, Communications - APAC role requires performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Drive overarching narrative development and management of key internal events and recognition programs to engage Hilton Team Members such as the APAC quarterly town halls, APAC leadership conferences, Team Member Appreciation Week, Great Place to Work wins, ESG activations (Travel with Purpose Week, Earth Week), Diversity, Equity & Inclusion campaigns (including Women\xe2\x80\x99s History Month, Pride Month), Hospitality Heroes, amongst others.
  • Develop, manage and deliver a regional communications plan focused on customer engagement, to inform and engage Team Members in both corporate and hotel roles across APAC. To celebrate Hilton\xe2\x80\x99s award-winning brands and build Brand love, this role will closely partner with senior stakeholders across various functions (Brand, Commercial, Human Resources, and Operations, etc.) to support business needs and ambitions.
  • Represent APAC Communications in cross-functional event planning and management, assist in editorial planning for internal communications on behalf of the Area President, APAC, ensuring alignment with our business priorities and key enterprise themes.
  • Develop presentations and briefing materials for the Area President, APAC and select leaders including the VP, Human Resources, APAC in partnership with the APAC Communications team.
  • Develop timely and compelling narrative such as regular email communications, video content and management of Team Member channels and platforms.
  • Partner agencies to deliver a high standard of communications deliverables including but not limited to internal, executive and HR media strategies, video content, campaigns and events.
  • Collaborate with regional communications leads to identify effective ways to communicate, drive and boost Team Member engagement across APAC.
  • Support the APAC press office in issues and crisis management and join the manager rota, with coaching support, for the out of hours press office (approximately one weekend per quarter).
  • Act as a role model for more junior members of the team \xe2\x80\x93 providing guidance and support in all aspects of communications. While every member of the team has defined areas of responsibilities, we are a small and tight knit function with various members engaging and stretching across communications areas and projects as needed.

  • Proficiency and interest in internal and executive communications.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop editorial plans, creative campaigns, storytelling content.
  • Strong writing skills and interpersonal abilities, including experience working directly with C-suite executives.
  • Ability to partner across global, regional and hotel-level communications teams, ensuring best practices are shared and plans are aligned strategically and editorially.
  • Strong team player with ability to problem solve, lead cross-functional collaborations, and drive projects independently.
  • Thrives on a fast paced, globally matrixed workplace and business, within a busy communications team environment.
  • Ability to manage data insights and translation projects to support effective, inclusive communications.
  • Ability to maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel as required (around 20%, mostly within APAC).
  • Flexible to work beyond/outside official hours when dealing with global teams in various time zones.
  • Ability to manage budgets and account for return on invested capital and time resources.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
  • Experience in managing social media content generation and social platforms.
  • Experience with PR agency or editorial team.
  • Experience in design and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro).
  • Experience in hospitality industry.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in Chinese (to manage related media, content, local or regional communications).
