Role Responsibilities

As Transaction Banking Content Writer your primary role is to write, edit and deliver editorial thought leadership and product marketing content to enhance awareness, reputation, consideration and commercialisation of Standard Chartered\'s transaction banking services and solutions.

Candidate will

  • Research - including SME consultation - formulate, ideate, copywrite, proofread and edit content
  • Edit, proofread, repurpose content for internal, sales, product or marketing use
  • Advise on angles, trends, ideas
  • Develop editorial frameworks and flat plans
  • Develop storyboard for events in which select SC representatives participate
  • Attend select events for research, coverage and \'social\' reporting purposes
  • Oversee award submissions for select award entries
  • Support other editorial or content deliverables as required.
Content items include, but are not limited to, articles, papers, blogs, magazines/newsletters, infographic concepts, speeches, presentations, video scripts, social posts, website copy, vox pops, awards.

Strong writing and communications skills, project management, and time management skills together with relationship building (stakeholders, peers and external agencies and partners) will be required for successful and timely delivery of content to effectively differentiate Standard Chartered in a highly competitive market, targeting specific client segments and industry sectors.

Strategy
  • Awareness and understanding of the bank\'s and business\' strategy to ensure content support campaign delivery.
  • Support the Head of Transaction Banking Marketing in developing strategic plans to deliver CABM, Transaction Banking and CCIB goals
  • Brief and prepare the Head of Transaction Banking Marketing and Global Head, CABM for key meetings with stakeholders, CCIB Marketing leadership team and others as required.
Business
  • Responsible for leading the development and delivery of client facing content for Transaction Banking, ensuring global and regional relevance
  • Work closely with product commercialisation specialists to contribute and support to the awareness agenda
Processes
  • Manage and produce content in accordance and compliance with the budget; sponsorship, web and social media, and campaign reporting processes respectively, among other processes, as they arise .

  • Lead by example, be an ambassador for CABM to the business and other functions
Risk Management
  • Stay abreast of marketing and the transaction banking business landscape to identify and anticipate risks and issues, to include in content production
  • Stay abreast of Bank and CABM/marketing landscape to identify, anticipate and work proactively to seek solutions and mitigate impact of issues and risks.
  • Ensure our activities are in accordance with Group policies.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 8 years as a copywriter/editor
  • Proactive, results-focused with solid project management skills
  • Fast, persuasive oral, and writing and editing skills - able to gather information, set expectations, manage stakeholders, propose themes and topics, articulate messages, and drive others to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven track record in fostering relationships across teams and geographies.
  • Management of industry award submissions, including editing or writing of entries, coordination of multiple teams and inputs, award tracking, and internal communications
  • Practiced in successfully ideating, developing and delivering various content formats, ensuring messaging addresses client needs and challenges
  • Ability to work in a high pace, high pressure environment
  • Flexibility, adaptability and comfort with changing circumstances in a dynamic business environment
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Knowledge and experience of Transaction Banking
  • Writing experience as a content writer and/or journalist in transaction banking services with an emphasis on cash management and/or trade finance and working capital
  • Degree educated or equivalent.
