We are seeking a technically proficient and collaborative Senior Manager, FP&A Data Enablement & Governance to support data infrastructure, system integration, and governance efforts within Central FP&A. Reporting to Senior Associate Director, this role which will based in the Finance department and will serve as the bridge between Finance, IT, and system vendors - ensuring robust data integration, system stability, and strong data governance practices.
The person will play a pivotal role in FP&A system implementation and post-go-live operations, with a strong focus on data integrity, system enablement, and continuous improvement. This position is instrumental in enhancing FP&A capabilities and requires deep technical expertise, cross-functional leadership, and a commitment to data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management Reporting & Strategic Insights:
a. Drive initiatives to build the management reporting pack, ensuring alignment with business priorities and executive needs.
b. Support MOE RCM analysis, contributing to financial insights and reporting accuracy.
c. Drive cross-functional efforts to enhance financial reporting, analytics, and business intelligence capabilities
2. Drive FP&A System Management:
a. Drive the design, implementation, and optimization of FP&A systems, dashboards, and data infrastructure to support strategic financial planning and reporting.
b. Participate in system testing (e.g., UAT, integration testing) and assist in go-live planning and readiness activities.
c. Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, collaborating closely with IT and external vendors.
d. Maintain and continuously improve documentation of system architecture, data flows, reporting structures, and integration points to ensure transparency and operational resilience.
3. Post-Go-Live Operations:
a. Oversee and manage the FP&A system month-end closing workflow, ensuring timely execution, data accuracy, and alignment with financial reporting timelines.
b. Monitor system performance and support day-to-day operations, including issue resolution and minor enhancements.
c. Collaborate with stakeholders to refine dashboards and reports based on evolving business needs.
d. Track and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, escalating risks when necessary.
Support user provisioning, access controls, and security policies in line with IT governance 4.
4. Data Integrity & Governance:
a. Support the development and implementation of data governance guidelines, including data ownership and accountability frameworks.
b. Assist in data quality initiatives such as profiling, validation, and reconciliation across systems (e.g., ERP, data warehouse).
c. Ensure compliance with data security and privacy protocols, including access controls and classification standards.
d. Promote responsible data sharing across teams while ensuring proper usage and documentation.
e. Provide training and guidance to users on data governance policies and best practices.
5. Leadership & Collaboration:
a. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and project contributors, helping to build internal capabilities in FP&A systems and data processes.
b. Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Data Governance, and Security teams to align system priorities, resolve challenges, and drive improvements.
c. Act as a Finance systems subject matter expert (SME) during audits, compliance reviews, and internal control assessments.
d. Contribute to the development and delivery of cross-university financial insights, supporting cross-university initiatives.
