The role of Senior Manager, Governance, COO, will work as part of a team to support the Head, People and Governance, COO, in managing the frameworks which allow GIA to assess and report on risks arising within GIA; this will include, but isn\xe2\x80\x99t limited to, operational risk, conduct risk and other risk types. The role requires someone with an eye for detail who can also step back to articulate the broader risk landscape.
This isn\xe2\x80\x99t an audit delivery role, but someone with a good understanding of audit and risk would be well positioned to take this up.
This role works with the Manager, Governance, COO to identify opportunities for more effective and efficient management of the function\xe2\x80\x99s risks, assess the impact of changes on the function\xe2\x80\x99s risk profile, develop communications and training relating to key areas of risk. Key to the success of this role will be strong relationships with stakeholders both internal to GIA and with Risk partners.
In addition, the role holder will manage GIA\xe2\x80\x99s co-source engagement framework, providing oversight so that the risks associated with this are effectively managed.
Strategy
The role is focussed on driving improved performance in the function by ensuring its risks are managed effectively, in a way which meets the changing needs of the audit function of the future. The role holder will be expected to lead on benchmarking including regular interaction with second line stakeholders, monitoring external developments and embedding these to ensure GIA\xe2\x80\x99s risk reporting is effective and accurate.
Business
As the function continues to deliver against its strategy, the risks facing GIA will change \xe2\x80\x93 we need to horizon scan effectively as well as ensure that we are managing the risks of today effectively. The role holder will play a key role in the identification of risks facing GIA and the timely remediation of any gaps identified.
Processes
Manage all changes required to GIA\xe2\x80\x99s management of its own risks, in line with the Group\xe2\x80\x99s approach for Functions. Report as required using the Group\xe2\x80\x99s tools as well as regular reporting to the GIA COO and Audit Executive Team (AET).
People & Talent
Lead on training relating to GIA\xe2\x80\x99s risks for new joiners and existing staff. Support the wider team to effectively manage queries from internal stakeholders and external bodies on GIA\xe2\x80\x99s risk management approach.
Risk Management
Support the Head of People and Governance in maintaining a rigorous risk management framework for the function. This will include reporting and advising on areas of key risk to GIA \xe2\x80\x93 it will require experience of managing risks in a business or functional unit as well as a strong ability to communicate effectively on these topics.
Governance
The role holder will be fundamental to strengthening the risk management frameworks within GIA for managing its risks as a function. Monitoring compliance and reporting on breaches will also be important.

8+ Years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Audit or Risk professional with a recognised qualification
