This position will lead the IT Procurement categories for Application Development and Maintenance and Software for Asia Pacific. He/She will be responsible in delivering the J&J IT business and operational goals and targets, work closely with the Global Category Leads in ensuring the global strategies are implemented regionally and will partner with Regional IT senior stakeholders across all sectors to deliver business initiatives and meet value commitments.

This position will deliver procurement-based competitive advantage by managing a world-class supplier network that provides superior value to J&J. He/She will require an in-depth knowledge of the relative industry standards, leading technologies and solutions which will help drive innovation within J&J IT.

Key responsibilities:

1. Regional Sourcing Strategies

  • Responsible for implementing global and regional strategies, keeping the regional sourcing strategy current and relevant and aligned to the overarching global strategy while meeting business needs.
  • Lead or support key global procurement initiatives or programmes, representing the region strongly to the global procurement community and influencing how global strategies are shaped to make sure regional business needs are considered.
  • Work closely with Global IT Category Leads to ensure alignment to strategy and adherence to policies.
2. Cost Savings
  • Identify cost savings opportunities that will bring efficiencies in the delivery of products and services
  • Flawless execution of global projects on a regional level.
  • Collaborate with Senior IT stakeholders to identify opportunities to reduce cost or cost-effective solutions
  • Keep a regional or global mindset to ensure projects are leveraged and value maximized
  • Actively support benchmark activities to monitor supplier performance against industry standards and contract costs in the marketplace
3. Procurement Operations
  • Overall responsibility to improve procurement operational metrics such as driving spend to preferred suppliers, efficient buying channel opportunities, CSAT scores
  • Optimize and implement improvements in sourcing processes, partner and leverage Global Services resources to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Lead development and refinement of IT Category processes, tools, and playbook, including leading the sharing of best practices with other categories.
4. Stakeholder management
  • Build stakeholder relationships to drive value to the business and ensure procurement support on all requirements and any unmet needs. Engage with Senior IT stakeholders on a regular basis to fully understand business needs and to strengthen partnership, establish trust and deliver Procurement value.
  • Enforce and ensure understanding of procurement policies and processes to drive compliance.
5. Supplier management
  • Manage relationships especially with Preferred Strategic Suppliers in the region - leveraging on supplier expertise to drive relevant discussions with the business, tracking supplier performance on key projects or ongoing services, and providing feedback for performance improvement to maximize delivery of services to J&J.
  • Work with contracting teams to ensure contracts are in place and compliant to policies
  • Establish a regular cadence of meetings with strategic suppliers (quarterly/annually etc.) and involve regional leadership to identify category improvement opportunities
Others
  • Regular reporting of updates/ challenges to Procurement leadership/ Global Category Lead
  • Support category\'s DE&I and Sustainability commitments for the region
  • A minimum of a bachelor\'s degree (or University equivalent)

  • Strong Collaborative Leadership and Influencing Skills and strong analytical skills

  • Expertise in Commercial Agreements and knowledge on Legal and Compliance requirements
  • Ability to converse in Japanese / mandarin to cover the markets for China and Japan would be advantageous
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to present and interact with the highest level of business leaders
  • Ability to build strong business partnerships; must be proficient in the English language; proficient in Mandarin and / or Japanese preferred
