The position
The Senior Manager for Media Relations & Communication will manage and secure Novo Nordisk\'s reputation across Region Asia Pacific (APAC) through communication, media relations and issues management. The role will also strengthen Region APAC leadership team\'s media engagement capabilities by facilitating media training, issue management training in alignment with media relations policies and practices. The role will also provide judicious guidance and oversight for affiliates in product communications overall and particularly in Obesity (including launch strategies/LAP, and project plans) and assist in developing launch and post-communication plans, as well as aid in corporate branding campaigns and disease awareness campaigns.
Other role tasks are as follows but are not limited to:

  • Co-creating and/or approving media responses in collaboration with affiliate teams in alignment with organisational media priorities, Identifies and counsels affiliates on proactive communications and media opportunities to position Novo Nordisk as a leader in obesity, diabetes and other chronic diseases, and reviews media policies and procedures in affiliates, ensure alignment with Global media and issues management practices and policies and provide improvement guidelines to communications managers.
  • Ensures affiliates have proactive media relations/PR plans in place - both to prepare for launch as well as in general awareness and patient engagement, and works with affiliates to utilize global press releases to drive engagement while keeping within compliance guidelines
  • Manages Novo Nordisk\'s reputation across all portfolios and with specific focus on obesity and provides timely and accurate issues management counsel to Regional and affiliate teams, as well as provide judicious communications counsel to affiliates during crises and issues including obesity and diabetes and support in managing the response to emerging issues. Counsels and assists affiliate communications in managing the response to emerging issues, and drives management monitoring and risk identification, provides guidance to affiliate leadership where required.
  • Provides planned guidance for affiliates in obesity communications plans (including launch strategies/LAP, and project plans) and assist in developing launch and post communication plans, as well as input on communications strategy to the obesity cross-functional launch team and others when needed and assist affiliate communicators in developing launch and post-market plans for new products in the portfolio.
  • Aid in corporate branding campaigns as well as disease awareness campaigns, and drive thought leadership in obesity on LinkedIn and other relevant channels for senior management.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a master\'s degree in communication, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of 7+ years\' of experience in Business Knowledge understanding in Southeast Asia market specifically in Media relations or PR, preferably in a pharmaceutical, life science or healthcare industries.
  • Self-motivated, independent, with solution mindset, flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Must have excellent social skills, as well as written and oral communication skills.
