The Role Responsibilities
The Governance Officer is responsible for supporting the activities related to Third Party Risk Management (“TPRM”) and Outsourcing oversight and governance for Asia , with the purpose of:

  • Support implementation of the Group Third Party Risk Management (“TPRM”) Framework
  • Support gap analysis for country regulations as relevant and ensure implementation. This involves coordination with relevant Risk Owner teams
  • Perform monitoring and control as well as supervision of the bank’s Third Party (including outsourcing and non-outsourcing) portfolio. This may include (and is not limited) to review of the material arrangement pipeline, concentration risk, renewal status, yearly review etc
  • Support maintenance of a complete upto date Third Party register
  • Ensure all relevant MI is presented at the required governance forums in a timely manner
  • Escalate any issues to local and Group risk committees as necessary.
  • Support internal/external audit and associated regulatory audit as directed.
  • Support process improvements where relevant
Engagement with First Line teams
  • Coordinate updates from Contract Owners in the business and functions.
  • Escalate where timely updates are not available
  • Support second line of defence oversight of third party risks, validating and/or escalating, as appropriate, third party risks in alignment with the TPRM framework and the Board-approved risk appetite.
Key Stakeholders
  • Work with Country / Regional / Group TPRM Governance and Category Managers team to ensure consistency in approach and alignment of Group / regional processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders (including but not limited to Contract Owners, Risk Owners,) to effectively coordinate and execute third party risk management controls.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 6+ years of working experience, with a majority in banking, supply chain, financial services
  • Experience in third party risk management and / or operational risk
  • Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualifications
  • Bank training; Code of Conduct, AB&C
  • Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task with tight lead times.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Good understanding of emerging Third Party related risks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the team in formulating and maintaining local TPRM strategy.
  • Ability to operate in a complex multi-organisation, multi-country and multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to influence others and skilfully build credibility with stakeholders.
  • Change management skills and self-awareness to adopt varying approaches for different stakeholder dynamics.
  • Mental tenacity and analytical mind having the ability to take on tough and complex challenges yet remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and excel skill a plus
