[What the role is]
Reporting to the Assistant Director (Product Management), this role manages the lifecycle of our product(s) based on demand and competitive market analysis, funding sources, product positioning, tactical activities to strategic planning.

This role will take a global look at organisational needs from a Digital Platform perspective, support key product development objectives that are aligned with the Libraries and Archives LAB25 Learning Marketplace role, analyse potential partner relationship, generate innovative ideas to grow market share, improve customer experience and drive usage of products.

Throughout the phases of developing product and iterating new releases, this role can connect the dots during brainstorming sessions, and take pre-emptive actions to address potential issues across the lifecycle of developing product.

The ability to provide product visioning aligned to the goals of the Archives and Libraries Group (ALG) is critical to bring realisation of vision of serendipitous discovery of our Libraries and Archives. Inspiring staff along this creative productisation is one of the critical strengths needed for this role.

[What you will be working on]

  • Lead and align all teams on the product vision, value to be achieved and the customer needs to be met, to be data-driven as much as possible and in future, to be researched-driven.
  • Define target segments and collaborate with teams to build collective ownership that is aligned to the organisational strategy, e.g. in putting up business case, developing launch plan, product marketing, and planning product end-of-life.
  • Collaborate with internal ALG stakeholders to define business requirements and work with cross-divisional teams from mapping user experience to user stories, product brainstorming, aligning minimum viable product (MVP) and outcomes, adding features incrementally.
  • Work with teams to resolve project impediments, backlogs prioritisation, manage product value, design, and resolve technological constraints. Make visible the product backlog or prioritised list of requirements for future product development.
  • Be user experience-centric and represent users to the development team.
[What we are looking for]
  • At least five years of relevant working experience, preferably in a product-focused organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders across spectrum like from young adults to seniors, and from community members to executives.
  • Experience in mobile app project, development, or product management will be major advantage.
  • Knowledge of public service procurement processes is an added advantage.
Work location will be at the Marine Parade Public Library. As the library is currently closed for renovation, the current work location is at the National Library Building.

Successful applicant will be appointed on a two-year project contract.
