Job Description

The Senior Manager serves as a lead of the Chingay Production team to organise the annual Chingay Parade as a key national level project of PA in bringing people together through building and bridging communities, promoting racial harmony and appreciation of our diverse cultures. He/She works closely with many organisations and stakeholders including the private, people and public sectors to present a high quality and refreshing Parade.He/She will also oversee the management of the People\xe2\x80\x99s Association Talents (PA Talents) dance ensembles to provide entertaining multi-cultural shows at national events and outreach performances to promote cultural understanding.He/She supervises and lead teams in effectively organising other arts and culture programmes and projects of varying scale, including national and international level, to meet the division\xe2\x80\x99s strategic & operational goals, as well as other national and PA events.GeneralAssists Senior Officers in the formulation of policies and align division\xe2\x80\x99s strategic goals to meet PA\xe2\x80\x99s mission and objectives.Assists to plan and review the programmes and projects of the section to meet the division\xe2\x80\x99s strategic & operational goals.Supervises and develops staff for continuous improvement and to help staff understand PA\xe2\x80\x99s initiatives and perform their assigned duties.Serves as a Relationship Manager to build and maintain close working relationships with partners and stakeholders.For Chingay ParadeOversees the conceptualisation and production of Chingay Parade including the conceptualisation of the storyline and scripting, content creation and curation to support the Parade as well as the webcast and television (TV) telecast, and management of the emcees and/or characters at the Parade.Oversees the production of the webcast and TV telecast of the Chingay Parade with the appointed production team and/or broadcaster to produce high quality programme and trailers to promote the broadcast of the event.Leads the planning and execution of design and fabrication of performing stage and/or other large-scale set-up required based on the parade\xe2\x80\x99s theme and concept.Support the execution of the related briefing sessions, practices, rehearsals and parade days.Serves as a production manager to Chingay performing groups, coordinating the groups\xe2\x80\x99 participation in the Chingay Parade and its rehearsals as well as related fringe events by providing administrative and technical support with regards to choreography, training, costumes, floats, props, sound and lighting etc, to ensure their items meet the acceptable standard of the parade.Conducts audit checks to ensure that the performing items comply with artistic requirements of Chingay.Leads the planning and co-ordination of ad-hoc Chingay projects that enable mass participation by the community and give support to logistic and administrative matters for the programme.Supervises the Manager in the assigned production related duties.For PA TalentsSupervises the Manager in the management of the PA Talents dance ensemble including development of PA Talents\xe2\x80\x99 performers and volunteers, coordination of their involvement in performances and ensuring a professional standard and good rapport between staff and PA Talents\xe2\x80\x99 performers and volunteers.Assists in preparing budgets, compiling statistic and monthly report of PA Talents to help monitor the achievements and in meeting the Section\xe2\x80\x99s objectives.Leads the planning and coordination of ad-hoc performances or events presented by the PA Talents.Assists the co-ordination of any overseas performances on sponsorship, publicity and programmes to ensure its smooth organisation and implementation.
