Job Purpose
You will be working in the regional risk function and directly reporting to the regional Chief Risk Officer. The role is a split between regional topic leadership and holistic risk coverage of Operating Entities (OEs) in Allianz Asia/Pacific. To work with future challenges of enhancing risk culture and qualitaive risk management in the OEs in Asia Pacific
What you do
Regional topic leadership

• Enhancement of the economic capital model (SCR) for the region refering to Solvency II framework
• Covering the PC and LH Risk topics,including but not limited to the following area

• Providing guidance and opinion to Operating entities from a risk perspective during P&C product reviews
• Provide guidance to Operating entities on assessing reinsurance contracts
• Provide guidance to the Operating entities in implementing Best Practice Key risk indicators as proposed by Group
• Capital Management, proactively guide and support Operating entities with regard to defining and implementing capital management related initiatives, lead the regional steering and monitoring of the implementation status and development of related KPIs
• Coordinate and report on Solvency analysis on a quarterly basis
• Solvency II policies implementation review
• Regular review of reports to Group (e.g. ASU Deviation; Nat Cat, MMD exposures; ...)

Financial risk management

• Annual alignment on the management ratio, and quarterly review of solvency development
• Annual alignment on the OE's Strategic Asset Allocation, investment limits, and quarterly review of exposures, ALM inlcuding duration management
• Annual alignment on limits w.r.t. the Product Steering Matrix, and quarterly review of utilisation
• Review of risk related KPIs of OEs during planning processes

Non-Financial Risk Management

• Conduct the annual RADAR assessment in close alignment with the local CRO
• Review TRA results and offer advise
• Align on the quarterly Qualitative Risk Report
• Support the OE along the IRCS Cycle; review the OE's documentation in ORGS, discuss material operational risk events
• Involvement in product discussions in particular w.r.t. retails risk/client value concerns and ASU referrals
• Review of potential risks of OEs during planning processes

Support and guidance

• Align with the local CRO in preparation of the quarterly OE RiCo
• Attend the quarterly GovCC, ALM Working Group, Investment Committee and other relevant committees and working groups and provide input as needed
• Hold regular calls with the local CRO (and local Risk colleagues)
• OE visits to ensure proper implementation of Risk related topics and also offer support "on the ground"

What you bring

• Solid quantitative background
• Solvency II and capital management
• P&C and/or LH underwriting risk
• Understanding on Investment risk
• A solid understanding of insurance business, from a risk, financial, product and operational point of view
• Data analytics and tool development for companies within the finance, insurance and retail industries. e.g. Data management and programming in SQL, Python, R and VBA
• Exposure to an international working environment with matrix organization in order to support various operating entities risk functions in the APAC region
• Fluent in English, Knowledge of additional languages (e.g. Mandarin) a plus
• Experience in risk management, including various quantitative risk measures and stress testing/modelling experience
• Support in running ALM models to quantify and monitor interest and liquidity
• Understanding of Asian regulatory environments
• A University Degree with more than 10 years of experience in finance, insurance and risk management and.or related areas such as investments, actuarial, cat modelling and/or underwriting
• ERM related certifications such as FRM/Actuarial certification
