[What the role is]We are looking for resourceful and service-oriented individual to join the Operations & Facilities Management Department which oversees the operation and maintenance of Government cemeteries, crematoria and columbaria. You will lead a team to provide after-death care services at government cemetery and crematorium offices.[What you will be working on]Lead a team to work with the existing construction and consultant team to oversee the progress of the construction work and subsequently take over the Mechanical & Electrical systems/equipment and building facilities & structures in the various construction phases of the new crematorium at Mandai.Lead and manage a group of technical and operations staff in the safe and efficient operation of after-death facilities e.g. crematorium, cemetery and columbarium.Lead a team to manage appointed outsourced contractors and other parties involved in after-death related projects to achieve optimal maintenance standardLead a team to oversee the maintenance of equipment and machineries to ensure smooth and efficient operations (e.g. overhaul of cremators)Lead and implement programmes and initiatives to address ground and operational issues (e.g. sanitation and cleanliness) at after-death facilitiesReview work process, and put in place systems to ensure efficient operations with no error, and to improve productivity and service standardsEnsure compliance to the SOPs (e.g. cremation, burial, exhumation and pulverisation operations and maintenance of equipment) and workplace safetyLead and coordinate with external agencies in other operational work (Qing Ming operations, 7th month and other festivals operations, etc.) at Mandai Crematorium Complex / Choa Chu Kang Cemetery ComplexLead a team to engage stakeholders e.g. funeral services providers, contractors and attend to public feedback and enquiries, particularly handling difficult customers and putting up recommendations to challenging casesTrack and monitor ground situations, including statistics collation and reports preparationPerform other duties assigned by supervisor[What we are looking for]Electrical/Mechanical Engineering background preferredExperience in leading and managing a team of at least 10 officers on operations and contract managementMeticulous with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsA good team player with excellent communication (verbal and written) and conflict management skillsResourceful and embrace growth mindset at workHave physical stamina to work in the field and withstand exposure to weather conditionsAble and willing to work on weekends and public holidays, and to work in after-death environmentPreferably with Class 2 or 3 license and is willing to drive available department vehicle for work purposeApplicants will be updated on the status of their applications within 4 weeks of the closing date of this job posting.As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment
