[What the role is]
You will be a member of the National Parks Board\'s prosecution team supporting the Board\'s functions in the management of and the safeguarding of our parks and nature reserves, protecting animal health and welfare and regulating trade in endangered species, amongst other fucntions and duties.
[What you will be working on]
You will conduct prosecutions in the State Courts on behalf of the Board under the authorisation of the Public Prosecutor covering offences under legislation such as Parks and Trees Act, the Animal and Birds Act, the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act and the Wildlife Act, amongst others.
You will review and prepare cases for prosecution, handle mentions and conduct trials, consider appeals, direct further investigations as necessary, advise operational departments as well as conduct training, amongst other duties as may be assigned.
[What we are looking for]
Completed tertiary qualification in law (LLB)
Prior experience in law enforcement, prosecution or regulatory work is an advantage
Experience in conducting trials in the State Courts is a key advantage
Having good analyticalal, writing, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Able to multi-task and work well under pressure
Able to actively function both independently and as a team
