PurposeProvide materials science expertise and support to GSC sites on business-prioritised projects related to security of supply, major programs, technology transfers, covering a diverse range of services including technical leadership, expert consultation, provision of measurement or process data, including its interpretation and reporting to the customer, and providing expert training to GSC sites.Key Responsibilities AreaProvide physical characterisation data as part of routine process monitoring (CPV) and influence the optimisation of Primary and Secondary process performance so as to make improvements with respect to quality, robustness and cost savingsDevelop, improve, validate and transfer physical property methods for new and existing products. Review and improve physical properties analytical methods, procedures and standards.Provide materials science data and expertise, and where possible, undertake troubleshooting of processes through knowledge and understanding of API crystallization and drug product manufacturing processes to drive/ support primary and secondary investigations and deviations leading to effective root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.Provide leadership and/or expert input and measurement data into the Material Risk Assessment (MRA) process to support process and material changes, including material comparability studies.Responsible for the qualification and maintenance of physical properties equipment, including routine performance verification checks, ensuring analytical equipment reliability and fit for purpose for routine and non-routine tests.Ensure proper documentation and filing for all work carried out, in compliance with GMP, GLP and GQP requirements (includes laboratory notebooks, technical protocols and reports, analytical raw data, risk assessments, etc).Supervise and train technicians, junior staff and interns to improve competency on physical properties analysis, data generation and interpretation, whilst ensuring compliance and safe work practices.Skills, Knowledge, ExperienceAt least a degree in Pharmacy, Material Science or equivalentSome experience in a laboratory environment in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent is desiredSound knowledge of physical properties characterisation techniques.Knowledge of Primary and Secondary manufacturing operationsDemonstrates an applied understanding of the theory of a specialized scientific field in material science.Experience and expertise in one of more areas of materials science e.g. powder/particle technology, colloid science, material measurement etc.Technical knowledge across the following key areas of materials science e.g. pharmaceutical materials and their functionality, transformation of material properties across primary and secondary processes, material characterization.Sound knowledge of cGMP/ GLPKnowledge of laboratory safety and hazardsTo learn more about Singapore GSK and our people, please click on this link:#Li-GSKWhy GSK?Uniting science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together.GSK is a global biopharma company with a special purpose \xe2\x80\x93 to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together \xe2\x80\x93 so we can positively impact the health of billions of people and deliver stronger, more sustainable shareholder returns \xe2\x80\x93 as an organisation where people can thrive.
