RSP Engineering team is expanding requires an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our vibrant global architectural design studio to support the design and development of MEP services including HVAC, Water supply, Drainage, Firefighting, Gas & BMS systems.


You will be collaborating on high end hospitality, residential, retail and commercial developments offering plenty of challenging opportunities to grow in an exciting environment.


The ideal candidate will have solid technical background and the ability to lead the Mechanical designs through all project phases, from concept to construction.


This role combines technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to drive innovation and successful project delivery within agreed project timelines and quality parameters.

Your responsibilities include:

Mechanical design and analysis, ensuring compliance with UAE and international standards. Preparation and review of concept, schematic and detailed design drawings, calculations, and technical specifications. Collaboration with architectural, interior design, landscape, structural, electrical teams to deliver integrated and efficient MEP design solutions aligning with architectural intent. Supervision and mentoring of junior engineers and BIM modelers to ensure high-quality work and project requirements. Participation in design reviews, value engineering, and project meetings with clients, contractors, and authorities. Support for document preparation and submission to local authorities for approvals. Communicate and coordinate with all disciplines and stakeholders on a daily basis. Understand district cooling operator requirements. Possess basic knowledge of other disciplines related to building services.

Core Competencies & Attributes:

Proven expertise in HVAC, Drainage, Plumbing, Fire Fighting (Smoke Management and Fire Protection), and Gas System design. Strong knowledge of UAE Building Codes, International Mechanical Standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, CIBSE, IPC, etc.), and authority approval processes. Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, HAP, IES, DuctSizer, PipeSizer and MS Office. Experience in applying BIM and digital tools in MEP engineering workflows. Innovative and solution orientated approach to MEP design, with a focus on sustainability and low energy design. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary, multicultural teams. Commitment to ethical practice, acting with professionalism, integrity and due diligence in accordance with applicable laws and company policies. Proactive mindset and ability to deliver under pressure. Demonstratable success in leading and delivering Mechanical designs on time and within budget.

What you will need:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the UAE in Mechanical design of buildings within a consultancy environment. Society of Engineers - UAE, Dubai Municipality accreditation etc. Membership / certification from CIBSE or similar or working towards achieving this.

Preferred Qualifications:

Dubai Municipality G+Unlimited Accreditation and/or certification from other local Middle East authority bodies. Membership or certification from IStructE, ICE or similar professional bodies.
