Innovation Station is seeking a Senior Mechanical Robotics Engineer to lead the design and development of cutting-edge robotic systems. In this role, you will be at the forefront of mechanical innovation, creating and simulating high-performance components that meet rigorous engineering standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical and software solutions, leveraging your expertise to drive projects from proof-of-concept (POC) through to minimum viable product (MVP) and pre-series. Your proficiency in CAD tools and 3D printing will be instrumental in rapid prototyping and efficient manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end mechanical design and development of robotic systems, from concept to MVP and pre-series phases.
Develop detailed CAD models and perform simulations of robotic components and assemblies.
Conduct feasibility studies and analyze performance data to optimize mechanical designs.
Prepare and execute Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), and support development using V-cycle or agile methodologies.
Define and implement testing, validation & verification (V&V) strategies, including reporting and documentation.
Collaborate with software and electronics teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Lead prototyping and manufacturing efforts using 3D printing and other rapid fabrication technologies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a focus on robotics or automation.
Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
Experience with robotic simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo, V-REP).
Strong foundation in mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing techniques.
Hands-on experience with 3D printing technologies and additive manufacturing.
Certification in robotics or related disciplines is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Advanced mechanical design and simulation expertise.
Proficient in robotic system simulations and multi-body dynamics.
Deep knowledge of materials, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
Proven track record in testing methodologies, automation, and reporting.
* Demonstrated ability to transition POC to MVP and support industrialization handover.
