Sr. Network Engineer

• 12 months contract
• Work location: Woodlands

The Opportunity

• To install, configure, support enterprise LAN, WAN, SDN, Cloud, wireless, load balancing, WAN optimization, Unified Communications, and security architecture and strategies to support business growth
• Disaster Recovery, Capacity Planning, and system monitoring and alerting
• Support the global network within the scope of a larger globally-dispersed team in a fast paced environment
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including patches, hot fixes and security configurations
• Create and update network documentation
• Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions to solve critical business challenges in a timely manner
• Adhere to corporate change management policies and practices
• Perform 24X7 on call responsibilities in a global follow the sun model

Your Background

• 4+ years experience with enterprise-level IT network operations role
• 4+ years experience with enterprise-level WAN/LAN network architecture and design
• 4+ years experience working with a global team
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, ACLs, ZBFW, DMVPN, MPLS, VoIP, QoS, SNMP, VPC, and VSS
• In depth knowledge of Cisco IOS/NX-OS configuration and troubleshooting across multiple platforms including routers and switches
• Good understanding of VoIP and Cisco Unified Communications, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity, gatekeepers/gateways, UCCX, and SRST
• In depth knowledge of LAN Switching, including VLANs, VLAN trunking, port channels, port security, HSRP, and Spanning Tree
• Must have good network routing protocol troubleshooting skills (EIGRP, BGP), switching technologies, firewall technologies, WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills are required
• Results oriented and self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of IT projects and deliver them on time and within budget
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while dealing with frequent interruptions and working in a high-pressure environment
