The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Policy and Governance Operational Risk in discharging their accountabilities through delivery of the framework and infrastructure for effective management of operational risk SME risk areas, including Change Governance, Product Governance and Transaction Processing Risks.
This role includes design, embedding, oversight and governance of the 3 SME risk areas (as above) and associated policies and standards, including providing guidance and subject matter expertise.
The role-holder is responsible for supporting the development and enhancement of the 3 risk areas through policy governance and to support all Businesses and Functions in line with the Operational Risk strategy.
This will be achieved through delivery of the following
Advice & Engagement: Offering a point of deeper expertise around more technical areas of Transaction processing, change governance and product governance risks. Provide guidance and extensive training on various topics in the policy to the first and second line. Continuous collaboration with first and second lines to ensure the management and embedding of these three risks and adherence to policy minimum standards.
Governance: Develop and inculcate the right policy, process, technology and governance architecture, in partnership with ERM and Group Management where appropriate.
Regulatory and Audit: Lead the assurance activities to assess effectiveness and adherence of regulatory requirements, and ongoing monitoring and tracking of actions to closure. This requires data analysis and an ability to acquire a detailed understanding of the control landscape and analyse and interpret relevant MI.
People & Risk Culture: Drive the engagement with Operational Risk enterprise-wide, supporting a culture that recognises and reflects effective management of these Risks in its operating model and its decision making.

Our Ideal Candidate
12+ Years of experience in Non-financial risk/ ops risk expertise and oversight
Experience in Operational Risk management, specifically with business knowledge/ experience
Experience in Change Risk
Experience in Transaction processing
Experience in Product governance and/or oversight.
A rigorous and analytical approach to risk management, with attention to detail and effective control execution and due diligence.
Experience in enhancing policies and governance.
Experience of business partnering, including the ability to synthesize and articulate complex and technical topics clearly to diverse audiences.
Experience of assurance or audit
Proven experience with co-ordination of many dependencies in a complex, large-scale environment.
Good experience in stakeholder management .
Experience in the use of Excel for analysis of complex data and PowerPoint for communication purposes.
People Leader experience.
Ideally the role holder will have specific experience within the three risk areas and have an in-depth knowledge of some of the key organisational and operational challenges faced by a Second-Line Operational Risk function.
