We are looking for an experienced Optics Engineer to design, simulate, and optimize optical systems and components for advanced photonics products.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of optical modules and subsystems.
Design optical paths including lenses, mirrors, micro-optics.
Develop and optimize optical packaging processes.
Perform optical simulations and modeling, analyzing beam propagation, coupling efficiency, losses, and thermal effects.
Evaluate and qualify optical components (e.g., lenses, waveguides, fiber assemblies, coatings) and suppliers based on performance, manufacturability, and yield.
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to analyze tolerances, control processes, and integrate optical components effectively.
Involved in design verification and testing, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate optical designs into system-level products.
Document designs, simulations, and test results to support intellectual property creation and product certifications.
Qualifications:
PHD or Master's degree in Optics, Physics, Photonics, or a related field.
At least 8 years experience in optical design, simulation, and packaging for photonics or MEMS-based systems.
Strong understanding of optical components, fiber-optic systems, tolerances, and system-level integration.
Hands-on experience with optical alignment, fiber coupling and packaging techniques etc.
Proficiency with optical simulation tools (e.g., Zemax).
