Job Description

What the role is:
The Product Design Practice Lead is a senior-level role focused on leading and guiding a team of product designers to ensure high-quality user experiences across products and services. This includes product designers across all Product Squads in the various AI Functions (e.g. AI Central, Enterprise AI Products, xDigital, S&S, xData, Q Team, etc). They develop and implement UX strategies, foster design thinking, and mentor team members, while also contributing to the overall UX vision and strategy of the organization.
What you will be working on:
The principal accountabilities of the jobholder include (but not limited to): o Define and execute the UX vision and strategy for products or services, aligning with business goals o Influence strategies and work plans across AI workgroups in different functions and Home Team Departments, providing design leadership in domain areas. o Define and implement consistent product design practices, frameworks, tools, and methodologies across teams o Mentor and coach product designers and teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development o Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement within the product design function o Encourage and support innovation within the product design function, exploring new approaches and technologies o Conduct briefings/workshops to impart product design knowledge and experience at HTX-level and/or Ministry-level platforms o Work alongside the director and/or member of senior management on high impact products and initiatives. o Reap synergies through integrating and applying cross domain knowledge and skills. o Be the mastery of product design combining deep knowledge of theory and organisational practice. Seen as subject matter expert and thought leader in specific discipline.
What we are looking for:
design tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD) o Deep understanding of user-centred design principles with experience in user research methods and usability testing o Knowledge of front-end development and design systems o Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities o Up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies o Experience with agile methodologies and product management o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
