Job Description

Role Overview



This position is primarily responsible for the procurement of fresh food categories--including meat, eggs, seafood, vegetables, fruits, condiments, and frozen goods--as well as gross margin management.


The role ensures a consistent supply of high-quality fresh products while maintaining cost efficiency.





Key Responsibilities



Supplier Management:


Select, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers to build a reliable and high-quality supply network. Proactively source and develop new suppliers to secure better quality products at competitive prices.

Shelf-Life Management:


Monitor product shelf life closely and manage near-expiry items to minimize losses. Optimize inventory planning to reduce costs and improve turnover.

Procurement Planning:


Develop procurement plans based on customer demand and supplier capacity. Ensure timely product availability for online sales, adjust product mix seasonally, track delivery schedules and quality, and coordinate morning sourcing and purchase order creation.

Category Operations:


Oversee category operations and maintain product information on the e-commerce platform, including product setup, descriptions, listings, promotions, and third-party reporting.

Gross Margin Management:


Analyze sales and margin performance to control procurement costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve profitability.

New Product Sourcing:


Source new products based on sales needs, conduct price comparisons, reduce costs, improve margins, and ensure timely listing to meet customer demand.

Team Management:


Lead and manage the procurement team, including team structure development and performance management.

Qualifications



Deep understanding of international food markets and trade regulations. Proficiency in multiple languages, with fluency in both Mandarin and English required. Minimum 3 years of experience at a leading local platform, with at least 2 years independently managing a product category. Over 5 years of relevant procurement experience, with strong knowledge of frozen and fresh food sourcing channels and market trends.

Required Skills



Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing. Effective supplier management to build stable procurement channels. Language proficiency: Fluent in English and Mandarin. Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Responsible and detail-oriented.

Preferred Skills



Familiarity with Singapore's key markets for produce, seafood, meat, dry goods, and alcoholic beverages, with a well-established supplier network to ensure diverse and cost-effective sourcing. * In-depth understanding of the local fresh food supply chain and ability to leverage upstream resources effectively.
