[What the role is]

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s central bank and integrated financial regulator.

As central bank, MAS promotes sustained, non-inflationary economic growth through the conduct of monetary policy and close macroeconomic surveillance and analysis. It manages Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s exchange rate, official foreign reserves, and liquidity in the banking sector.

As an integrated financial supervisor, MAS fosters a sound financial services sector through its prudential oversight of all financial institutions in Singapore \xe2\x80\x93 banks, insurers, capital market intermediaries, financial advisors, and stock exchanges. [What you will be working on]

MAS\xe2\x80\x99 Data Analytics & Engineering Division (DAE) is a specialised team within the Data Technology and Architecture (DTA) Department within the Technology Group (TG) in MAS.

DAE\xe2\x80\x99s primary purpose is to partner internal MAS functions to generate business value through the enablement of effective and efficient use of data driven insights for business value creation. This is achieved through effective strategies, strong in-house development capability, standardization of processes, tooling enablement, establishing a product development mindset, promoting knowledge sharing within MAS and complementary external collaborations.

As a DAE Product Manager, you will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments. Specifically, you are expected to:

Be a technically skilled leader grounded on best practices

Be accountable for and drive product management related initiatives for assigned projects

Execute effective go-to-market (GTM) and change management strategies necessary to promote the usage of new data science products and EDSP services

Participate in annual budgeting exercises, ensure high budget marksmanship on assigned projects, and provide regular updates on year-to-date budget forecasts

In collaboration with Project Management Office (PMO) in TG, contribute towards product management best practices, methodologies, and standards in MAS

Be an effective communicator and collaborative partner

Collaborate effectively with DAE\xe2\x80\x99s Production Engineering (PE) and Data Science (DS) teams to deliver enterprise data science platforms (EDSPs) and enterprise grade data science products

Interface with assigned MAS business groups, and support them in identifying opportunities to deliver additional business value through data science products

Work with MAS Academy to deliver both targeted product management training and broad-based awareness programs to all MAS staff

Promote the growth of the Data Analytics Community of Practitioners (DACoP) through organisation of workshops, training sessions, and forums to foster greater awareness of analytics within MAS

Be a supportive team player

Support any TG and DTA initiatives as required.

[What we are looking for]

Minimum bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in any management, information technology or engineering field

3 to 10 years of experience leading both vendor led and in-house development projects, preferably within public service and/or financial services industry

Professional qualifications in project management, such as PMP, CSM or PSM

Able to develop appropriate project plans using best fit methodologies, and lead assigned projects(s) end to end independently with minimal supervision

Able to serve as a mentor towards junior and less experienced product managers

Excellent problem-solving skills, which includes the ability to distill large complex problems involving cross functional teams and other stakeholders into smaller, actionable steps

Good knowledge of product go-to-market activities, especially in areas such as product positioning and product launch

Familiarity with basic data analytics core techniques and concepts

Comfortable working on multifaceted problems in an agile environment. Demonstrate ability in overcoming business and technical constraints and deliver value adding data science products

Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical / business / senior management audience is a must
