Senior Project Lead Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Data Center Automation

As a Senior Project Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for providing the technical lead and coordination for all engineering activities in Data Center Automation (DCA) domain for assignments classified as medium to large engineering complexity. Ensuring that activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are efficiently and cost-effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Reporting to Engineering Manager (DCA), ensuring the service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. Executing technical support, act as specialist, and solve problems in own expertise area. Proactively communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for Service growth.

Your responsibilities

• Ensuring that engineering is developed with complete information and that all multidisciplinary information has been included in the engineering development. Solving problems that appear during engineering development. Driving completion of all engineering activities on the project
• Creating proposals for engineering projects or programs through coordination of proposal drawings, bills of materials and estimated engineering hours for all engineering disciplines. Performing engineering risk analysis before submitting proposal
• Defining project tasks and ensures allocation of these tasks to project team members, specifying relevant schedule, cost, and quality metrics. Coordinating the creation of work plans and cost estimates for work in all applicable engineering disciplines. Proactively managing the project engineering team to deliver the agreed program on time, on quality and at the targeted cost
• Acting as overall technical lead for the engineering disciplines included in the project. Actively developing and coaching the project engineering team and colleagues, supporting with technical advice and guidance. Cultivating a network of engineering professionals both within and outside own business unit and shares best practice across different projects and disciplines. Creating standard processes and tools
• Providing technical support and solves problems in own expertise area via remote or on-site service in any service category (installation and commissioning; maintenance; repairs; engineering and consulting; advanced services; extensions, upgrades, and retrofits; end of life services, replacements, etc.)
• Managing customer relationships and maintains regular contacts with key customers. Identifying new sales opportunities, proactively communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for Service growth. Conducting specialist support and advisory service for Sales team
• Preparing all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative. Reporting work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed

Your background

• Minimum with recognized degree in Engineering with experience in automation systems
• At least 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in 800xA project lead engineering with experience in Data Center projects an added advantage
• Leadership on result and strategy orientation, teamwork and collaboration, personal development, and change
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Computer literacy and competency Microsoft office tools
• Strong Negotiation Management
