We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mechanical and process systems and will play a critical role in project cost estimation, tender processes, and material management. This position demands expertise in cost estimation and management, effective contractor coordination, and material control to support the successful execution of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Tender and Site Walks
Participate in tender site walks to assess project requirements and constraints.
Lead site surveys to gather accurate data for project planning and estimation.
Prepare tender overviews, vendor status checklists, and raise queries (RFI & RFC) for clarifications.
Mechanical and Process Systems
Demonstrate knowledge and experience in:
Mechanical Wet Systems : Chilled Water System (CHW), Condenser Water System (CDW), Drain Water System (DR).
Mechanical Dry Systems : HVAC & Mechanical Ventilation (MV) ductwork.
Process Wet Systems : Process Cooling Water (PCW), Compressed Dry Air (CDA), Nitrogen (N?), Waste Water Drainage.
Process Dry Systems : Exhaust Ductwork.
Technical Drawings and Layouts
Interpret technical drawings and documentation to meet client requirements.
Generate isometric drawings and sketch layouts for contractors' quotation preparation.
Scope of Work and Bill of Quantities
Develop detailed Scope of Work (SOW) and Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
Distribute SOW and BoQs to contractors for pricing and quotation purposes.
Quotation Management
Review vendor quotations for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Gather and compare quotations for cost analysis.
Conduct cost reviews with the Project Manager to support vendor selection and pricing finalization.
Prepare project quotations for submission after final review.
Manage and update project tender listings for reference.
Material Procurement and Control
Identify and finalize material requirements in line with project specifications and timelines.
Finalize terms and conditions, and prepare contracts and/or purchase orders with vendors.
Monitor and control material usage to minimize waste and ensure efficiency.
Track project variations, additional work scopes, and contractor progressive claims.
Collaboration and Coordination
Coordinate with project teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth tendering and project execution.
Provide technical guidance to vendors throughout the tender and construction phases.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience
: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or similar roles within the construction industry, with specific expertise in:
Mechanical Wet Systems (CHW, CDW, DR)
Mechanical Dry Systems (HVAC & MV Ductwork)
Process Wet Systems (PCW, CDA, N?, Drainage)
Process Dry Systems (Exhaust Ductwork)
Technical Skills
:
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting/design software.
Strong understanding of SOW and BoQ preparation.
Knowledge of construction cost estimation and material procurement processes.
