Reporting Structure * You will report to the Managing Director, Asia and General Manager, Singapore.

  • Primary focus will be Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) as well as working with the IRONMAN Asia team comprising Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines teams and supporting IRONMAN Asia Licensees.
  • You will be supported by the IRONMAN global operational team, and the IRONMAN Asia management team.
Base of Operation
  • Your initial place of work will be the IRONMAN Asia, Singapore Office with potential future relocation or long-term international assignment.
Scope of Assignment

IRONMAN Asia develop, owns, and manages mass participation running, triathlon, IRONMAN and multi-sport events throughout Asia.

Working within the IRONMAN Asia Team, the Senior Regional Operations Manager, Asia is responsible for the overall operational delivery standards of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) as well as Malaysia and Philippines based IRONMAN events, and IRONMAN licensed events within the region (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, China).

The Senior Regional Operations Manager, Asia will:
  • Assist SCSM Operations team with organization and delivery of key event components.
  • Train Singapore/SCSM/Asia Region Operations staff in organization and delivery of key event components according to global standards of the IRONMAN Group.
  • Oversee the licensees in their operational event strategy and delivery, providing guidance on the design of event courses, venue design, course management and operational staffing requirements.
  • Assist Asia Region Head of Operations and Managing Director with review of proposed new venues in Asia Region and preparation of license agreements.
  • Lead implementation of IRONMAN standardized operational practices at all events in Asia Region.
  • Liaise with the Global Operations Team on global operational initiatives, standardization, and best practices.
  • Assist in the review and approval of documents submitted by lRONMAN licensees, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Operational Staff Manual

- Medical Plan

- Swim Safety Plan

- Bike Course Plan

- Run Course Plan

- Traffic Management / Control Plan

- Course Timing Document

- Bike Technical/Mechanical Support Plan

- SAG Support Plan

- Communications Plan

- Side Events Plans

- Or other documents, as outlined in the Global IRONMAN Operations Compliance Manual

- Support for event critical incident reporting
  • Provide guidance on the development of event Contingency Plans and Emergency Action Plans.
  • Prepare post-event reviews and debriefings with event operations teams.
  • Support, train and coordinate the learning and growth of operations representatives within the IRONMAN Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines teams.
  • Support, train and coordinate the learning and growth of teams at licensed events in the Asia Region.
  • Develop, contribute to, and maintain a culture of teamwork and collaboration across the IRONMAN licensees.
  • Be prepared to work weekends to assist in the delivery of events and/or extended international travel.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or a related degree, with a minimum of ten years\' experience in the international event industry.
  • Project management experience in event operations including integration with commercial departments.
  • Global experience in event development and venue assessment.
  • Project management and leadership experience with international mass participation events.
  • Proven track record of budget development and budget management with international mass participation events.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task, work under pressure and work within required deadlines
  • A high level of computer competence in the Microsoft Office Suite
