Volvo Bus Asia Pacific is one of the leading clusters within Volvo Bus Corporation (VBC) and has a proud history of profitability and growth. It is responsible for Bus vehicle and Service sales business, partnership with Volvo\'s own and private importers, key customers and body build partners, and progress of the Volvo Buses total business within the region.

We are looking for a well-qualified individual to join the Volvo Bus APAC Central team as Senior Regional Technical & Quality Manager, Volvo Bus APAC Central.

Reporting to the Director, Volvo Bus APAC Central, the Senior Regional Technical & Quality Manager, Volvo Bus APAC Central has overall technical and service support responsibilities for markets across the APAC Central region including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia:

  • Responsible for providing technical, quality and service support to local technical teams, customers and dealers
  • Ensure high level of customer satisfaction through the delivery of prompt customer-focused and high-quality solutions to technical issues
  • Responsible for all aspects of technical and quality support for Bus products in the region
  • Overview of warranty, campaign and recall activities and related costs for all markets in region
  • Actively participate in APAC Quality and Technical forum liaising with the Director, Quality Technical & Competence (QTC) APAC to improve related processes within the region
Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure and maintain a high level of technical expertise by providing technical and service support to internal and external customers with particular focus on electronics and next-generation systems including electromobility
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through prompt and high-quality solutions
  • Support markets in improving overall service market and parts business
  • Support markets in the preparation of tender submissions in the area of service offerings
  • Oversee and follow up on contractual commitments related to in-service vehicle performance across markets within the region
  • Liaise with local market technical service managers on service matters and identity/create solutions as necessary
  • Monitor dealer technical reporting systems & quality and advise on improvement actions as necessary
  • Monitor quality level through regular customer visits whilst offering support for technical issues as necessary
  • Investigate, document, report and follow up with Director, QTC APAC and Volvo Bus Corporation headquarters regarding quality concerns via system reports as necessary
  • Manage warranty and campaign costs for APAC Central and ensure a balanced approach to settlement of warranty issues working with APAC QTC
  • Ensure warranty audits are conducted as planned via APAC calendar
  • Follow up and maintain technical goodwill budget for APAC Central as determined with APAC QTC
  • Develop and enrich working relationships through regular customer, dealer meetings, and visits
  • Manage, plan and organize technical training for customers and dealer personnel as required. Liaising with regional APAC Competence Development function
  • Manage distribution of service and technical related documentation to all stakeholders
  • Responsible for management and implementation of service and safety campaigns
  • Member of Volvo Bus APAC technical team
  • Other duties as directed/assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of related technical/service-related experience preferably with experience in Bus or commercial vehicle industry
  • Extensive knowledge of technical, service, electrical and connectivity in the bus or commercial vehicle industry is preferred. Candidates with Volvo experience is desired.
  • Strong problem solving/resolution skills (including hands-on experience) supported by in-depth related technical and electrical knowledge; ability/willingness to develop technical knowledge
  • Customer-focused, excellent client communications skills to work and build relationships with key customers, new dealers, business partners and internal team
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence, develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders; Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English language, verbal and written. Ability in other local languages will be a plus.
  • Ability to work successfully in a global organization, cross-functionally with exposure to different cultures in the Asia Pacific region
  • Frequent travel throughout region is expected
  • Adaptability and flexibility to perform a range of tasks, respond positively to changes in priorities. Willing to accept new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or Diploma in a technical, automotive electrical, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Experience working with productivity tools (MS Office, Excel & PowerPoint) and technical engineering tools/programs
