Job Description


Applications are invited for a Senior Research Fellow position in the Centre for International Law (CIL), National University of Singapore. This is a 2-year contractual appointment offered in connection with CIL\'s expansion of its programme on international law and technology, artificial intelligence and digitalization. The objective of the position is to develop the research capabilities and knowledge of junior scholars by immersing them in a dynamic and supportive research environment where they can enhance their understanding of different areas of international law and technology, artificial intelligence and digitalization.The duties of the incumbent will involve:

  • Conducting research and writing on topics related to international law and technology, artificial technology or digitalisation.
  • Publications in top tier peer-reviewed journals.
  • Developing and teaching of courses in on topics related to international law and technology, artificial technology or digital economy
  • Assisting in the development of seminars and conferences
The successful candidate is encouraged to apply interdisciplinary approach with other areas of international law, such as human rights.All research staff in CIL will have access to professional development opportunities (e.g., events, seminars, and training programmes) within NUS. They will also have opportunities to attend regional and international conferences, workshops, and symposiums as well as other scholarly opportunities.Qualifications
  • PhD degree in public international law;
  • Strong research skills with proven records in conducting independent research;
  • Experience with publication of journal articles or book chapters on international law is desirable;
  • Fluent language skills in English is required. Additional languages a plus
