Amazon, the world\'s most customer centric company, seeks a Sr. Risk Manager to support our global payments organization. In this role, you will identify opportunities to improve our payment processes and controls to mitigate risk and improve financial and operational performance. To achieve these objectives, you will be responsible for developing mechanisms to proactively identify and evaluate internal/external risks and for defining the technology, processes, and control improvements required to mitigate them. As a Risk Manager, you will support our payments business, operations, and technology teams to help them manage risks to their business, while influencing the broader risk culture across Amazon\'s global payments organization. You will also engage with senior stakeholders across the company, including other specialized fraud, risk, compliance, and legal functions. This position has a global scope and is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and high paced environment.Core Responsibilities:
\xc2\xb7 Partner with payments business and technology leaders to identify emerging risks and opportunities throughout the product development lifecycle.
\xc2\xb7 Develop and manage a forward-looking risk assessment roadmap for the business
\xc2\xb7 Perform risk assessments for new products/features and existing processes/systems to surface risks across all risk categories (i.e. operational, strategic, reputational, etc.), engaging SMEs as needed.
\xc2\xb7 Enable risk reporting, as well as oversight and escalation mechanisms, to ensure key risks are addressed prior to launch through mitigation or risk acceptance at appropriate levels.
\xc2\xb7 Define and implement risk tracking and reporting for each business and contribute to aggregate risk reporting for the payments organization overall. Audit and analyze risk metrics for each business to identify emerging risks and monitor controls.
\xc2\xb7 Prepare and deliver business reviews to the management team regarding emerging risks, status of risk assessments, and control performance.
\xc2\xb7 Lead post-launch reviews to capture new risk scenarios; conduct deep dives on repeated errors to eliminate defects.
\xc2\xb7 Serve as an advisor and subject matter expert on technology, operational, financial, and/or information risks and control mechanisms to prevent fraud, abuse, and other operational risks that negatively impact Amazon, our partners, and our customers. Surface risk insights and best practices from a global perspective
\xc2\xb7 Promote best practices and leverage internal risk management tools, resources and mechanisms to influence the risk culture and risk maturity of each business team
\xc2\xb7 Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal risk management tools, resources, training, and mechanisms that can scale with the organization.
\xc2\xb7 Independently manage complex projects and work with senior leaders in payments and other functions across the company.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Singapore, SGPBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor\'s degree or equivalentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Master\'s degree or equivalent
