Summary of

Analytics scientific leader for the ABS Global Technical Operations, within the team that focuses on the commercial and CMC support of biologics drug substance processes for AbbVie plants in Singapore. In addition, the candidate is an experienced analytical expert who drives technical and quality performance by utilizing the in-depth understanding of analytical chemistry of biological molecules to support the control, improvement and troubleshooting of commercial processes.

Major Responsibilities:

• The candidate will serve as an analytical technical expert for the manufacturing plant with respect to biologics process(es)
• The candidate will

• work in a dynamic and diverse team environment to support and troubleshoot commercial and develop new analytical techniques/approaches; driving difficult decision-making as needed
• provide technical oversight (mapping, supporting cell culture and purification activities, data trending, QC technical support, and drafting technical justifications to close investigations)
• design, execution, and interpretation of experiments to develop and qualify new analytical methods, perform comparability studies, draft risk assessments, and provide technical expertise to support regulatory submissions.
• innovate analytical technologies by creating, inventing, and implementing new or better approaches, alternatives and breakthrough ideas that are valued by customers within the function.
• A deep understanding of analytics of biological molecules and statistical methods is essential.
• The candidate should have extensive experience working in the lab in the handling of analytical methods. Corresponding experience/expertise in the cell culture/purification process is a plus
• The position necessitates extensive interaction with manufacturing, quality, analytical process development as well as CMC/Regulatory Affairs groups

Education/Experience Required:

• PhD in biochemistry, structural biology and related disciplines, 0-4 years post-doctoral experience
• M.Sc. with 4-6 years, years of relevant experience

Essential Skills & Abilities:

• The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience with HPLC and ELISA. Knowledge in the field of biological mass spectrometry and/or biophysical techniques used for protein characterization is expected
• The ideal candidate will preferably have experience in method development, transfer, and knowledge of GLP/GMP practices
• The ideal candidate has an ability to lead small teams, communicate technical concepts clearly and be independently motivated. Additionally, scientific independent thinking and the ability to lead the design and interpretation of experiments are critical
• The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated ability to influence others in areas of science through excellent communication and prolific writing

Travel: Yes, 10 % of the Time
