Get to Know the Role

As the Senior Software Engineer, you will have opportunities to work on multiple backend micro-service clusters. It is very important that our team members to identify problems, and have the right mindset and skill sets to solve them.


You will report to the Engineering Manager.


This position will be onsite at Grab office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

The day-to-day activities:


Build and maintain scalable, efficient, and low-latency payment services using Go Design and implement robust system architectures for high availability and performance Use AI tools like Cursor to enhance code quality, increase automation, and improve testing coverage and developer efficience Partner with engineering, infrastructure, product, and experience teams to define, prototype, and deliver scalable features Participate in code and design reviews to uphold engineering best practices Conduct service capacity planning, software performance tuning, and system optimization Analyze, debug, and fix complex production issues in large-scale distributed systems Continuously learn and apply full-stack performance tuning techniques

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field 5+ years of experience in software engineering within distributed systems environments Strong computer science fundamentals, particularly in algorithms and data structures Familiar with running large-scale web services; understanding of systems internals and networking Solid grasp of system performance, optimization, and scalability principles Proficient in at least one programming languages but experienced with Golang is a plus * Proven design skills with the ability to evaluate and improve system stability and scalability
