The Senior Software Engineer role is a part of the team which specialises and develops the Docking & Mooring Central Monitoring System. The Central Monitoring System is responsible for safely managing the Docking & Mooring of the ship. It provides the users with context specific information and real time intelligence to take safe and accurate decisions. The opportunity will allow you to work with latest technology stack and build full product development lifecycle knowledge from inception to deployment. You would be collaborating and closely working with your international peers in Australia to learn and share knowledge. Along with the technical skills, this role would provide an opportunity to expand your leadership skills and business acumen. Our Benefits

What your Key Responsibilities would look like:

• Experience in design & developing software solutions as per the functional requirements and timeframe of the project.
• Responsible for successful delivery of technical coding solutions as per project needs.
• Quality assurance activities, including documentation, code reviews and testing.
• Partner with other team members to provide mentorship and guidance.
• Actively involved in continuous improvement of software practices and tools.
• Be an advocate for adoption of Agile/Scrum practice, methodologies, and attitudes.

What you will bring: It is expected that the role holder will most likely have the following skills and experience:

• 7+ years of strong Java coding experience.
• Java8+ development experience at an enterprise level.
• Experience in design patterns and clean coding practices.
• Microservices/RESTful service design.
• Experience in SQL Databases. Experience in ingesting & reporting time-series and relational data is a plus.
• Experience with Spring, SpringBoot frameworks.
• Must have: A keen desire to write code.
• Good to have: Experience with Docker.
• Good to have: Familiarity with MQTT/RabbitMQ and/or other live data acquisition mechanisms.
• Good to have: Familiarity with TDD/BDD.
• Good to have: Experience in Agile Software Development.
• Good to have: Familiarity with CI/CD automations.

The Must Haves:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field or its equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
