THE ROLE PURPOSE The Senior Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, improving, or maintaining our web applications, third-party system integrations, backend systems, and working with monitoring tools and infrastructure. ‍This position will drive a high standard of code reviews and lead architectural discussions to ensure the delivery of highly performant, reliable, scalable, and available distributed systems. Ensuring good engineering practices are applied and quality outcomes are achieved for B1G1. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Provide full stack expertise to the engineering team and establish best practices on code quality and performance.
• Lead and mentor junior/offshore engineers to deliver high quality codes and projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers to build great applications.
• Build confidence in our project delivery through automated testing, continuous integration, monitoring, and analytics.
• Provide architecture-level and code-level feedback for the engineering team
• Shepherd technical decision-making process and provide technical roadmap and thought leadership.
• Practice agile software development methodologies like Scrum.
• Lead junior engineers/development team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of features.
• Provide productive feedback to ensure continuous improvement of the development team.
• Raise concerns, risks and suggestions to B1G1 Product Leadership to ensure ongoing success of the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in front-end development (Javascript/VueJS v2) and back-end development (Laravel framework)
• Strong experience with relational DB design and application, specifically MySQL
• Strong experience in developing RESTful APIs
• Experience in designing scalable, reliable, and secure software architectures using cloud technologies like AWS/GCP/Azure
• Experience in leading junior/offshore dev teams using Agile practices and Scrum
• Experience in version control (Git), and familiarity with development collaboration tools (GitHub) and Git GUIs (Sourcetree)
• Knowledge of Database High Availability, Replication, Connection Pooling, Load balancing, DB Proxy - Desirable
• Experience in hybrid and native mobile development (Swift/Java/Kotlin) - Desirable

LOCATION
100% Remote, preferably based in Southeast Asia SALARY Anywhere from SGD $5000/Month to SGD $6500 Per Month
