JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for clinical co-ordination of trauma services provided by the different Clinical Departments involved in the care of KTPH trauma patients. Responds to at least 70% of trauma team activations that occur during office hou JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for clinical co-ordination of trauma services provided by the different Clinical Departments involved in the care of KTPH trauma patients. Responds to at least 70% of trauma team activations that occur during office hours. The trauma coordinator will function in whatever role necessary to assist the team in the care of the patient, which includes: assisting in primary and secondary trauma survey overseeing patient documentation co-ordinating the flow of the casualty within the emergency department and with other areas such as OT (Operation Theatre) or ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Co-ordinates initial post-intervention care of trauma patients with the clinical, nursing and allied health teams in the A&E, Peri-operative Services, ICU, and the general wards to facilitate continuity of care throughout the trauma patient's journey to health at KTPH. Implement processes for trauma registry and trauma service Assist in the duties of the trauma coordinator with focus on data entry into the National Trauma Registry. Responsible for accurate data collection, injury coding and enter data within specific timeframe Ensure trauma data collected is regularly uploaded to the central system, National Trauma Registry. Conduct 6- and 12-month follow-up outcome interviews via telephone. Perform routine data quality and completeness checks to ensure that accurate trauma volume is captured. Participate in routine data validation and data cleaning. Assist in the review of the trauma registry criteria, data requirements, and abstraction guidelines. Involve in system enhancement testing and reporting of system errors in the database. May assist in data collection and compilation for various audit or research activities. Assist in the management of events and activities under trauma activities. Participate in trauma-related and injury prevention research activities. JOB REQUIREMENTS Certified nurse registered with Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) or a health science graduate. Prior experience in data coding/collection will be advantageous. Preferably with at least 5 years of related work experience in specialty nursing care such as critical care nursing / trauma nursing. Ability to work with other members in the teams and colleagues in different settings and cultures. Possess good analytical skills and able to make decisions independently. Dynamic, self-motivated and result oriented. Excellent communication and co-ordination skills.
