Responsibilities

Lead the product engineering team.

Manage the annual workday targets of engineers; provide coaching, guidance and oversight on their activities.

Assist the engineering manager in driving team goals, policy deployment and inclusiveness.

Assist the engineering manager to develop a robust talent development plan in alignment with functional growth strategies of the department.

Oversee work in a variety of functions from a business perspective with budgetary responsibilities.

Provide measurable input to new processes or standards in operational plans in order to implement business strategies.

Drive the product maturity strategy and implementation on the shop.

Lead efforts to optimize manufacturing processes by assessing operational needs and provide technical guidance in meeting business objectives.

Lead internal/external cross-functional teams in projects that may require intra or inter facility/vendor collaboration.

Provide recommendations that integrate engineering solutions to match facility needs.

Identify optimization opportunities for setup reduction, continuous improvement and process mechanization through collaboration and benchmarking with external facilities.

Work closely with the business managers in securing delivery targets.

Manage MRB review and develop reduction plans to eliminate non-conformance in the production process.

Plan and direct concurrent project activities that have large scale or significant business impact, specifically to first pass yield, OEE and process excellence.

Develop a robust plan that supports the reduction of aged WIP and rework.

Support and represent the facility during business reviews and delivery updates to the P&W Senior Leadership team in a technical capacity.

Participate and influence external business meetings that coordinate supply chain demands with engineering targets i.e. performance improvement part implementation.

Lead/Oversee DIVE investigations and apply root cause analysis to resolve technical issue relating to equipment and process.

Adopt a data driven approach to analyze problems, make objective assessments and determine actionable tasks to either correct or prevent technical challenges.

Apply CORE tools in all aspects of manufacturing to drive the right culture and mindset.

As the technical custodian of the manufacturing method, provide advice and support to process turnback and customer complaints in line with business needs.

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering with knowledge in Quality Management.

At least 10 years of relevant QA experience in the aviation industry or equivalent. Candidates with experience in aero-engine component manufacturing is preferred.

Good people management skills to lead and inspire a team of Engineers and Technicians.

Knowledge of and experience in AS9100, ISO 9001 and 14001 audits.

Good communications and interpersonal skills, with strong leadership quality.

Good analytical skills to develop, monitor and interpret key metrics and business indicators.

Continuous improvement mindset with strong desire of outstanding results.

CAAS approved signatory with CAAS L11 or L12 papers is a plus.
