Role Purpose
To become a formative member of our growing South East Asia Energy & Sustainability Services team which specialises in driving sustainability strategy, design, operations in the real estate sector.
Globally companies and governments have set ambitious target to be net zero carbon by 2050 and there is a tremendous focus on decarbonization, ESG, health and wellbeing. Given JLL\xe2\x80\x99s position as a market leader in the real estate sector, this role will give you unique exposure to the portfolio of major international companies across sectors of technology, banking, finance, government sector etc. so that you can build up your track record at scale. The real estate sector plays a significant role and this is a prime time to be joining the ESS team when the market demand is escalating due to the urgency for conversion of existing buildings to be sustainable.
Joining the team now you will help shape its future and be directly engaged in the market that is going to dominate the real estate sector. Not only will you be part of the dynamic South East Asia team, you will be also be part of the broader APAC sustainability team (with more than 100 sustainability professions) and get a chance to work on projects across the region! With JLL\xe2\x80\x99s role in the full value chain of real estate, you will also acquire valuable experience working across the full life cycle starting from fund raising, valuation, acquisition, asset development, asset management, disposal and/or rejuvenation.
Job Responsibilities
Sustainability Consulting: provide advisory on target-setting, benchmarking and Net Zero Carbon strategies/pathways to help clients manage their portfolio or assets through sustainable design, operations and decarbonization interventions. This includes using initiatives and frameworks such as CRREM, SBTi and GRESB.
Green Rating (e.g. Green Mark, LEED, WELL, EDGE, or related standards) Certification Advisory: Assisting clients to implement the certification process and to ensure compliance with local regulations and prevailing sustainability standards. This includes collation of necessary documentation, conducting gap analysis, developing scorecards and proposing improvement plans either for new builds or existing assets.
Sustainable Design & Embodied Carbon: Determination of embodied carbon emissions and introduction of sustainable design principles from the early stages of a project. Providing expert advice on sustainable materials, green building technologies, solarization/renewables, carbon-offsetting.
Monitoring and Reporting: Monitoring the performance of Green-certified buildings through regular audits and inspections. Collecting data on energy, water consumption, waste management, and other sustainability metrics to generate performance reports for clients.
Stakeholder/client Engagement: Educating and engaging stakeholders/clients, including investors, building owners, developers and occupants, on the pathway to net zero. This may include conducting workshops, seminars, and training sessions.
Market/technology trends: Keeping abreast of the latest trends and advancements in the sustainability field and to update our sustainability offering to be competitive
Function as a team player and collaborate closely with other leads within the team for delivery. Project management for local and overseas projects. Work in a rigorous manner to deliver accurate, high quality, impactful and client-ready outputs e.g., presentations, executive summaries, reports
Required Skills & Experience
Degree in a related technical subject (e.g. Engineering, Architecture, Sustainability, Energy, Project Management, Environmental Science)
Knowledgeable in ESG and building performance standards e.g., ASHARE, CRREM, SBTi, GRESB.
Professional license and credentials are preferred (e.g., LEED AP, WELL AP, Green Mark AP/AAP, SCEM).
5-10 years of experience in delivering sustainability consulting projects, certifications, carbon/ESG reporting, green building projects management, or in a related role.
Interest in new technologies that help drive towards Net Zero Carbon
Excellent communication and project management skills, including report writing and presentation techniques.
Driven and committed team player with interest and passion for Net Zero Carbon and Sustainable Buildings
