A unique Senior Technical Analyst, Global Database Systems job opportunity has just become available at a large bank in Singapore. About the Senior Technical Analyst, Global Database Systems Role:
In this business critical role, you will be responsible for database administration for global database support and development works for automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide BAU database support for traditional and OpenSource databases including MongoDB, Postgres on flexible working hours
- Infrastructure Operations \xe2\x80\x93 Rotate in the oncall support for Global Database, monitor on DBA/application database processes and fix, provide level two database support for primary Database owned database instances
- Release Management - support testing and release of new IT services, with a strong emphasis on adopting proper change management processes
- Problem Management - Assist in continual improvement of systems through careful analysis of issues and their causes
- Participate as part of the Global Database team in planning for projects roll-out, relocations, new systems installations and disaster recovery
- Ensure documentation on all systems in use for production and disaster recovery and regulatory purposes
- Ensure production problems, bugs, system problems/changes are documented and requests are acted upon promptly. Keep Senior Management advised of situations that may compromises agreed deliverables and/or affect production systems
- Provide and share technical knowledge and training if needed
- Report promptly on any difficulties encountered in this area of responsibilities and recommend actions. For technical issues and direction, liaise with MSSQL/Oracle Platform Manager for direction and resolution, to avoid duplication of effort, or implementing non-standard solutions. Where conflict of project priorities or timelines occur, raise issue with local and regional management for resolution
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Around 5 years of experience in database support
- Experience in automation scripting
- Experience in programming in, Python or Ansible and Java scripts
- Good knowledge of OpenSource databases like MongoDB, Postgres, Oracle/Sybase ASE/IQ, MSSQL, DB2 and Windows and Unix Administration (AIX/RHEL)
- First and second-level support experience
- Involvement in Business Continuity Management
- Strong team player with an ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence amongst peers and colleagues
- Ability to solve problems independently, quickly and completely and to communicate them clearly to management
- Previous experience in the finance industry
- Knowledge of JDBC/ODBC, database monitoring tools
- Experience working in a global team
